Thought of this while readin the post on how to build a warp drive.
this might sound stupid, but I always thought that when we break the speed of light (the light barrier) something f'ed up like would happen to the environment around you like when you break the sound barrier.
Let's suppose you DO travel beyond the speed of light.
Let's say you go fom point A to point B faster than light.
Person observing point A sees you essentially disappear with either a blur streak trailing behind you or possibly your image but no faster then the speed of light?
Person observing point B suddenly sees you appear, and then shortly after ( or much longer after) your light eventually catches up with you.
Sounds pretty F'ed up to me, Since I suppose you could like stand in the path of the light and then let it hit you and nothing would happen. It would be like a ghost?
What would happen if something HITS you faster then the speed of light? Would you disappear for a split second and then show up later on all splattered all over the place?
