I don't know if its the PC restarting and the HDD shutting down or what. But in the past could days I've had my HDD power down twice and my PC restart at the same time. The HDD would then power up at system post. I have a 350watt Antec True Blue and don't think thats the problem.

Any ideas? I just put the HDD in and stuff. It tests fine on quick self test and extended.

System is:
1800+@2.2Ghz
Abit NF7-S
2x256mb PC3200 1x512mb PC3200
Radeon 9800
80gb WD 7200RPM/8mb
2 optical drives
3 case fans

Any ideas? HDD getting ready to crap out? I did install WinXP using the SATA but decided to change to IDE without redoing WinXP. Think that could hurt anything?

what do you mean by power settings? Lastnight I turned my PC on, and as soon as WinXP loaded fully the HDD shutdown followed by a PC restart. They was about instant together. System rebooted then the HDD spun back up. Ain't having any problems ATM.

I was just referring to the power settings in control panel (ie, the hard drive powers down after xxxx hours of inactivity). That's obviously not the problem, though. :(

BIOS's power management perhaps (if hard drive power down mode is an available option)?
