What would be the reason for removing areas for students to sit down between classes?

As of two days ago, there are virtually no benches or chairs anywhere (except in the classrooms themselves, of course). You basically have to stand around like an idiot. :frown:

they probably figure that school is for going to class... they might wanna cut down on loitering... smoking or potential gang/drug problems.

🙂

So you stop wasting time at school crowding the hallways and just go to class once you get your stuff.

I assume highschool?
No. It does sound like something that would happen in a high school, though.

It's to prevent loitering and homeless people. Students can go to buildings / areas designed for hanging around (student centers) or sit on the lawn (weather appropriate). That's the basic gist here.
