My Goal is strong signal throughout a 2 level, 4600 sq ft house... Max LOS distance from router is about 100ft...

What is the best router in the context? Speed is a important too, but good signal is priority 1...

For your needs, definitely the WHR-HP-G54, without a doubt. I would start with one probably as close center of the house as you can. If that doesn't cover everything, setup another using WDS and put them on different sides of the house.

I too am looking for some router advice, and instead of making a new thread I figured I'd post here.

So that Buffalo looks like a winner.

My setup would be mainly about sharing the internet connection. I plan to hook my main computer and X360 through regular lan cables, since they are close to area where I plan to put it. Wireless part would be for another, less used, computer at the house and possibly a laptop or something. I take it that this Buffalo would be good for this setup? How's the port forwarding in it? I have never used a router that made port forwarding easy, so maybe this is different.

Also, the computer on the other room would need a wireless receiver, any recommendations?

I've deployed 14 of those Buffalo routers (with Tomato) for work, and I love them. It broke my heart when they had to stop selling them for a time, but I switched to that ASUS router and those worked great as well. I'm a happy camper now that Buffalo is back on the market.

Excellent, excellent routers.

The asus & Buffalo routers seem to work equally as well. The asus WL-500G Premium v2 routers have 32mb memory compared to the buffalo's 16mb and I think in high traffic environments, that may help. The wireless on the buffalo is superior to anything I've seen though considering it's going through a built in amplifier (I think 200mw?)
