What would an 8-year-old boy want for Christmas?

I'm buying a Christmas present for an 8-year-old boy but I have no idea what he likes or even what 8-yr-old boys like nowadays. I would like to keep spending between $30-40.

So, any ideas?

I just bought a 9 yr old a Nerf gun contraption at Toys R Us for like $40. Some mega cannon looking thing that splits into three different guns. Hell, if he doesn't like it, I'll keep it myself.

Ask his parents for ideas. Gift card to toy store, he probably would enjoy picking out something himself. I would just buy him a BB gun.....

Go to any toy store and ask the salesperson. They will tell you the popular items this year for that age range. It's not rocket science.

12 year old girls?

One of those air hog remote control planes. They're usually pretty cheap and loads of fun (assuming you dont break it on the first try!)

Got 8 and 10 y/o boys here. Some of the stuff they are into:

Legos are cool, Bionicles, Moon sand sculptures, Transformers, both wanted MP3 players this year, Magnetix, Eye clops (Cool magnifier that hooks to the TV), skateboarding stuff, fishing poles and accessories, HAvoc Heli, Playstation and Nintendo DS Lite stuff, etc....

Good Luck!

LEGOS is the first thing that came to mind. They're creative, fun, and educational.

You can play with legos forever, but those nifty guns and stuff are only fun for so long.

bwahaha 🙂

something buildable like legos or magnetix perhaps?

All I remember is most 8 year olds don't like duct tape.

Honestly, I think the 8 year old-10 year old range depends on what the lad is into. I'm sure they know what all the hottest, most expensive toys are and want those. When I was 8 years old I got my first NES system and radio controlled cars.

If you don't know what toys he wants, go another route. Trust me, Xmas is usually going to result in him getting more presents that he won't remember. I'm the kind of gift giver that will find a cool attraction and get him and his guardians tickets to. Or you could always go to the book store and get a book on locomotives or fighter jets...

An action/horror movie with scarcely clad ladies in it. That way you know for sure he'll still be interested in it in a few years time 😀
