Got a speedstream cuz it was 36 dollars after rebate...... first one was a bit quirky, so I exchanged it for a working one. Havent had any problems since. Don't have anything to compare it with though.

Compaq iPAQ CP-2W. It was a fantastic bargain a year ago (long before prices cratered in recent months).

It hasn't been completely trouble-free, but I've been very satisfied overall. I believe it's one of the few SOHO 802.11b routers that can disable SSID broadcast. The only feature I wish it had was a built-in print server. It doesn't do port ranging or trigger rules like D-Link (et al) but I don't need those features.

As for performance, the most important thing was replacing a Prism2 chipset client with the Orinoco Gold client. :)

I don't have a wireless router, I have a Netgear RT314 4 port router and a Linksys WAP11 WAP.

SMC BARRICADE (not barracuda, WTF is that?) 7004AWBR

It's been pretty good. Good reception, average security, easy to set up, and seldom if ever loses the IP with my cable modem when they decide to do funky things.

Another vote for the Compaq CP-2W

You may want to add it to the poll, there was a hot deal about it that was 200+ posts, i'm sure a few others are using it

netgear 814 and it has worked beautifully. My old Linksys would drop off every once in awhile. Not this baby!

Do you guys have to reset these routers once in a while if you lose connection from a client ? My uncle had a DLINK and he had to reset it at least once a day because I lost connection (random times).

My Linksys (wired) hasn't been resetted for as long as I can remember.

Do you guys have to reset it every so often ?

Netgear MR814 as a WAP. No problems as just a WAP. Read DSL Reports forums for each brand and research the model you are interested in. The MR814 has firmware issues and there is a beta version out now that fixes some of them.

I also have a Dlink 900 WAP but I'm using that as a wireless bridge to connect to a neighbor about 6-900ft away.. That's been running for months now w/ no problem.

I am using Dell's truemobile router, which I believe is a repackaged Cisco.

My brother in law has a linksys router... is having some problems with it.
