What Wireless Router are you using and How is it?

I have the SMC 7004AWBR

It's been working fine until recently I bought a Pansonic 2.4 GHZ phone and now if I use the phone near my laptop it will lose connection

Linksys - it sucks. Some cards that work flawlessly on other wireless setups refuse to work with it, doesn't reconnect my PPPoE connection if it's lost, and it doesn't do DHCP very well.

Every netgear I've used has performed perfectly.

Works fine. The newest firmware (2.18) fixed all the problems I was having, the website is helpful, and 24 hour tech support is a boon. They actually DO answer their phones too. :Q

My friend has a linksys and the interface is crappy. I no likey.

I have 2 Dlink DI-713P and have been very happy with both of them, though these a newer E and F hardware revisions. I have heard that people have had a lot of problems with some of the earlier hardware revisions, especially revision C.

D-Link 713P which is the same as an SMC (just can't think of the actual model # right now) and a Sony pcmia (Orinoco Gold rebadge) wireless card. I get great range with my router/card combo. Print server is great feature also.

Linksys BEFW11P1

It has great features, including print server, wireless and a 4 port ethernet switch, and good security. But the router is flaky. It will freeze occasionally so that even the reset button doesn't work. I have to unplug and replug the power to reset it. Linksys replaced my old one (same problem) but the new one has the exact same problems. It has been to Linksys twice for repair. They REFUSE to send me a new one even though this is a recurring problem. I wouldn't buy Linksys again, even though when it works it works quite well. The only thing it doesn't have is ability to turn off SSID broadcasts, but I don't think that was a popular feature when I bought this router anyway.

I like my MS kit. Bought it off someone on the FS boards. It's been great. Super easy setup.

I have a siemens and I like it .. I used to have a linksys but did NOT like it at all .. Very frequently it would stop responding to port 80 so I couldn't get in to configure it .. I'd power cycle it and still nothing .. I had to actually RESET it constantly and reconfigure it .. at least twice a month.

I have the Microsoft MN-610 and it's hands down THE BEST WAP and USB adapter I have ever used.

Kicks ass over my old crappy buggy SMC 7004AWBR which had to be reset at least once a day, very very annoying.

On our Compaq Presario 1500T laptop we use a Dell TrueMobile 1150 PCMCIA 802.11b WiFi card and it works GREAT!

Does anyone know why I would be getting ping averages of 600ms when the cable modem goes into the router and I get ping sof around 100 when the cable modem is directly connected to my NIC?

The first BEFW11S4 I bought didn't work (v.3), but I rma'd it with Linksys and the v.2 they sent me works great. Rarely drops the connection unlike the WiFi network at school.

So you have the D-Link card as well? I thought the D-Link card was a POS so I just use my Orinoco Gold instead. I didn't notice any difference with the 22Mbps mode either...

650+ in my laptop and the 520+ in my aunt's system. On the hardwired side I get 350+KB all the time, for the wireless it's pretty much the same speeds. Haven't done any LAN transfers with the new 4X mode firmware/drivers, but without it It usually hovered around 500+KB a sec.
