I'm not going to "do" anything if either side wins. If the candidate I favor does not win, I'll just vote for the candidate I favor in the next election. This country will neither make great strides forward, nor go into the crapper, with either candidate sitting in the office. We've had good and bad POTUSES before, and somehow we just keep plugging away.
Truth be told, the two parties and the two candidates are much more alike that not even in this highly partisan era. The difference between one party's draconian cuts and the other party's wasteful and irresponsible spending is damned near a rounding error on the deficit, much less the national debt.

I do worry about nominees to SCOTUS. I really, really don't want any more justices in the mold of Ginsberg et al. A few more rulings like Kelo v. New Londo and we won't have even the illusion of not being the government's property.

I am not aligned with either candidates, but the butthurt from the right and the endless cries of "mooslim black man ate mah baby and taxez" schadenfreude will be a endless source of amusement in its desperation for another 4 years. The predictability of these folks being used as ideological tools is rather sad though, but that's politics.

Romney winning and beginning the corporate dismantling and digestion of the US government and infrastructure left after starving the beast so long will be..interesting to say the least.

It seems the capitalists have finished crafting the rope, and now put it up for sale for all to see.

Almost makes me wanna vote R this time. But then I am no nihilist.

My reaction will be utter belief and dismay if the R^4 ticket wins. (R^4 = Romney-Ryan/Religious Right) But, the clock is ticking on my Swiss citizenship so I would only need to stick around for their first term and see how things are. At least I have a backup plan....if I still have enough money for the plane ride after 4 years of R^4 control of the whitehouse.

Even if such a scenario happened I am sure you all would be proud that the rest of the world thinks Americans are total morons thanks to the rights utter disregard for reality or sanity in a very public way.

We would still have to live down the stain on Americas reputation worldwide. Even if expats.

Personally, I just tell people when overseas all these morons are brainwashed by Foxnews -a Australian propaganda outlet.

Blame the Aussies, not the regular folks in the USA for our right wingers.

If they are from a country thats media is dominated by a tentacle of newscorp also they nod and drop the subject fast.

It works, try it. ;)

Once again, I don't have "a side" in this fight, other than to hope like hell Mitt the Mormon is defeated. Should he manage to beat O'Bummer...well...

Applies to everyone, all the hardcore folks seem to be absolutely sure their man will win but that's not going to happen.

As a [l]ibertarian I will only be able to look at the positive due to the ever growing libertarian members, Gary Johnson will not win though the trend will likely continue and we will continue to shave off Republicans and Democrats as they each keep trying to force their views onto others. With my political belief either one will give the same net result, even with a different means to get there. It is unforunate but it is what it is.

I was not here during the 2008 elections but on other forums some of the threads were comical, the McCain supporters were getting slammed and they had nothing. It will be interesting to see what would happen if the Democrats did lose. Personally I do not see that happening short another recession, however this forum is filled with liberals and the topics could hilarious.

It's going to happen, and some members have already stated their intent after the election win or lose :D

I think mitt will win, but also think whomever wins America loses.

I'll be voting for Obama, more for potential scouts pick.

Ban the third parties!!!!

If this did come about for whatever reason it would make literally no difference. Why not?

We could trim some of the governmental bureaucratic fat from the process of those silly election farce thingys they have on tv every once in awhile.

Yeah, I too am concerned about SCOTUS nominees. I don't want any more that will vote in favor of throwing out laws designed to curb the corruption in our political system. So there's a certain symmetry here, I guess.

I like being a libertarian. Its nice to be right even though I always lose. The winners arent really winners. Whoever gets into office is still gonna screw everyone over.

I don't think too many will be sincerely surprised if Obama wins. It's hard to defeat a sitting President. Quite the opposite if Romney wins.

Yeah, the last time we had a one-termer there was a strong 3rd party candidate.

As someone who opposes the big gov approach of both Republican and Democrat, my 'side' has not won since they attempted to restrain tyranny of the majority back when they wrote the constitution, bill of rights, and enumerated powers. I might say my 'side' lost the Civil War when states were no longer voluntarily part of the Union and were instead imposed on by force.

really sucks that that one side really wanted to keep their slaves so bad, and wanted unrestricted spread of the slavery institution throughout the Union.

Damn, those were some state's rights worthy of protection...

I agree. When you are claiming the rights of some people to legally possess other people as property, you can never have the moral high ground, no matter the law or other principles.

lol MYSIDE ISN'T GOING TO LOSE,. I voting obummer but HATE the guy . I just want America to get what it deserves. It will and than my side wins. Some here have made the leap and choosen well or not . But these no matter the choice are 100x better than fence sitters who wait to vote till the last pull . So they can think themselves winners when they are biggest losers in universe . They are such losers that satan himself hates them for their kind of evil . Gutless. Luke warm is to be spit out not consumed. Russia in 1917 made a choice . The wrong choice . Americans are about to make that same choice. The results will be worse than Russias. China worked or appears so because the people themselves as themselves are more cooperative without gooberment interferring .

THE master RACE LOL . Population Yellow race 31/2 billion . I will use the race breakdown as I was taught not all this made up BS.
Yellow race 3 1/2 billion people
White race Includes indians on both sides of world Hispanics also. 2.6 billion people

Blacks 1 billion maybe hard to get a good count.

So the oldest known cavey was african BLACK
So clearly the yellow race is superior followed by the whites and first out of gate blacks are last,

How will I react? I'm a realist so especially since the 2000 election where many sites now aggregate poll data and give you pretty spot on predictions, there's no real mystery.

In fact I'd like it more if they did what they do in Taiwan. Last 10 days = no polling data. But given how Taiwan's polling data kinda sucks to begin with, that's more meaningful.

But anyway, I put money on these things. I voted McCain but I put money on Obama. I won some good money betting on the results in NC. Hah. Who I think will win versus who I vote for can be two different things.

It is sad that more people dont understand the importance of the next presidential election.

The Supreme Court nomination(s) that are likely forthcoming are INSANELY important.
