Denim shorts and not playing Wimbledon because he could not wear the denim shorts.

Even though I think Wimbledon was his first slam. He didn't play it the first few years of being pro.

I was an 80's tennis junkie! 😉
 
watching him as a kid. he had the long hair and was the badass of tennis. lol I've always enjoyed watching him from time to time and seeing him on sportscenter.

I'll surely miss Agassi. He was great for the sport of tennis and a class act throughout.
 
Other than the hair, probably the rivalry with Sampras. I grew up watching the two of them play; great stuff.
 
when he called out the Wimbeldon officials who told him that he couldn't wear flourescent colors on his clothes even though all of the sponsors were promoting those colors on their ads and products...

he did end up wearing all white after that...
 
He'll be remembered for his rivalry with Sampras. 60 titles to 64 for Sampras is still a fetching amount though. 8 grand slams to Sampras? 14, leaves him behind in titles, but he's won all 4 slams which very few have done, including Sampras. As Sampras said himself, he was only as good as he was because he had a rivalry with Agassi that forced him to be even better.

I disagree, transforming from young crazy rebel to what he is now is one of the coolest things in sports. A lot of players go through similar transformations but none lasted as long as Agassi, and none did it as cool as Agassi.

In addition to not playing the Australian Open for the first 8 years of his career, in what would later become his best grand slam event, Agassi chose not to play at Wimbledon from 1988 through 1990 and publicly stated that he did not wish to play there because of the event's traditionalism, particularly its "predominantly white" dress code to which players at the event are required to conform. Many observers at the time speculated that Agassi's real motivation was that his strong baseline game would not be well suited to Wimbledon's grass court surface. Agassi decided to play at Wimbledon in 1991, leading to weeks of speculation in the media about what he would wear. He eventually emerged for the first round in a completely white outfit. He went on to reach the quarterfinals on that occasion.

Later on he went on to own that same court and showed off his dirty grin to all the Wimbledon officials 😀
