I will miss his tax policies, under Obama there will be less of a desire to move up for me as the tax burden will increase, plus I will worry about my industry since socialized heathcare and regulations on prescription drugs really aren't condusive to the industry in which I work...hello mediocrity

Just that ODS is gonna make BDS look like nothing more than a case of the sniffles.

Please explain.

Calmer climate and everyone felt safer, industry blooming, people bought with own money, investments in new production was daily news and supported actions, financed research.

No big spending outside the US.

Keep in mind that i'm a Brit though.

I'm trying to find statistics online (must be googling the wrong thing), but I thought credit card debt in the US went up drastically in the '90s. I think there was an issue with people not being able to accept that they shouldn't buy items.

Yeah, the repeal of the Bush tax cuts is really gonna discourage me from wanting to make more than $250k/yr.

You understand how tax brackets work, right? You only pay the higher tax rate on the amount you make above the bracket.

And there are no plans for socialized healthcare.

Yeah, my mistake. This was really meant to be more of a one liner post/thread. Should have realized that some are wound pretty tight right now...

You'll have to excuse me, but people who STILL don't get it irritate the sheit out of me.

Sorry for that, i'll revert them to NT per your request.
Sometimes, I think the subject of the argument in threads is irrelevant. It's just the arguing that some seek out. Some internal need to aggressively challenge others. Probably not the worst thing. It's probably better than individuals or gangs meeting on the street in the flesh.

Actually, i don't have the stats on small time spending, i'm sure you might find a total that might have been higher but at that point people had the money to pay it off, it wasn't about being homeless because you would be ruined back then.

You didn't get the big rush to buy a home with all costs on credit and no security back then.

i can't google at all, i can't even access the site from here in any way, however it will be fun to read all e-mails i got there when i get home.

My apologies seemingly random. I should have not wrote anything in your thread. I will not take back anything that I've wrote as I meant it all, but I will not clutter your thread from this point on. Again, my apologies to "you".

Someone has a sig about it, i think it was Rainsford that wrote it first.

Something about how being rich keeps being a popular thing even when taxes are raised for them.

Well, not in the streets but in the hills and mountains over here. ;)

You didn't answer my question. Or maybe you did, i'm too stupid to think right now, yes or no?

Last I checked it was household income, not individual...my wife and I both work, and that isn't an unattainable figure...

Not to mention the more than likely capital gains taxes that will most certainly impact our portfolio and any employee stock purchase plans we participate in...

And with the heathcare front, you do know that this has been something that the dems have been salivating at for years now right?? and with a supposed supermajority in the house and senate the reality of it comming to fruition would be better now than ever? or do you just ignore all of that stuff...

Given this statement I am under the presumption that you consider 250K/year rich...clearly we differ in opinion on this as where I live that is barely upper middle class.

Not what I was referring to at all. I don't mind clutter. I have plenty of my own. I simply meant this to be more whimsical.

Threads aren't owned by anyone.

Assuming you actually had a signficant income increase since 2000, do you really credit Bush for it?

Well Clinton created the wealth

Well, i own my own home, paid and clear, 4 bedroon, two garage, own two cars and two MC's all without credit, i don't owe shit to anyone.

I make more than that a year, a lot more.

However, taxes never stopped anyone from making more money, did it?

Didn't stop me at least.

Sure thing, buddy!

Im not your buddy, guy!

Aww... look who holds a grudge  . Grow up, child. Really. You sound pathetic.

Let's see if I can make a point without slathering it in foul language: Clinton created zero wealth. None. He's a textbook example of right place, right time. It's so obvious that it shouldn't need to be said, let alone taught. It's common sense and it's as intuitive as 2 + 2. You can add, can't you?

I will miss having a President that is even more goofy than Gerald Ford, someone we enjoyed laughing at for all his trips and stumbles...and gave Chevy Chase a big boost...

I'm sure political cartoonists, late-night TV show hosts, and lots of other people will bemoan the severe loss of material for their works...
