What will happen to the Vista boot loader if I uninstall Windows Vista Beta?

I currently have Windows XP and Windows Vista Beta installed in their own partitions on the same drive. I'd like to uninstall Vista and resize the XP partition, which I know how to do.

I'm concerned about the Vista boot loader, which installed over the XP boot loader. If I uninstall/format the Vista partition, what will happen to the Vista boot loader? I need a boot loader to switch between XP and Linux...

Is XP on your primary partition and vista on a second partition? As long as XP is your primary partition then you can format the vista one and still boot XP. The vista boot loader will still be there though, however there is a way to put it back to XP's boot loader, use vistabootpro in XP to revert it. I used the text console of something else but I've heard this is a much easier way to do it.

Yes, XP is on the primary partition. When you say the Vista boot loader will still be there, do you mean it will operate the same as it does now after I uninstall Vista? I'm guessing the Vista boot option will still be there but it won't do anything.

Thanks for that link.
