I wish they would fade away...basically they make crap...
They even bought Ensoniqs sound card and dumbed that down.
Their CDROMs and CDRWs have also turned into crap.

Their next soundcards are due out at the end of the summer and are based on a second generation EMU10k. Which means it won't be another rehash of the original SB Live.

Cool..... any links?

Personally I don't have any problem with Creative products (although I've been hearing about the Via/SB problems).

I don't think they will die but if Nvidia can bring out a sound card this will bring back some competition.

I'm personally very happy with my SB Live! Platinum. Although, just like switching from Intel to AMD, I'm very open-minded. One of those new Game Theatre XP cards is very tempting. But, I'll wait til i absolutely need a new sound card, this one does its job well.

I believe HardOCP had the first solid info on it, but was told to pull the info. Search these forums, I recall a thread on it. I think VR-Zone had a brief bit on it as well. Looks to be an interesting product regardless of what the anti Creative crowd says.

Since they effectively dismantled Aureal, they haven't had to do much but rehash the Live cards tenfold. I would spend my hard-earned money elsewhere before I would fork over to Creative.

I got me a sbLive Platinum... suits me fine. A friend of mine has the sbLive Value and via chipset and hasn't had any problems. Now that I think about it, a lot of the guys at work have some shape of the sbLive card and via... and haven't had probs.

I want to get a sbLive Platinum 5.1 for that remote and the optical input/outputs. But.. that'll have to wait til my current sb dies out.. which I doubt it'll do for awhile.

<< A new and 'very exciting' SoundBlaster product is expected to be ready in September. (Most probably it is the EMU10K2 sound processor that is twice more powerful than the present one and more supported effects. It sports features like Dual Firewire/1394 support, Secure Content technology, 6 channel digital and analogue out (Dolby Digital support) and Software PlayCenter 2, up to 320kbps coder and 9-time acceleration. The sound card family based on the new processor will be called Sound Blaster Audigy.) >>

I'm still waiting for decent drivers :|

I don't have an opinion on the cards themselves, but they really need to tidy up their web pages. 3/4/5 different driverpages, all with different info and drivers. Makes "the life after purchase" part a living hell.
