Looking for something that will convert .pdf files to MS Word, RTF or TXT formats. Preferably shareware or freeware but reasonably priced retail software also considered. TIA

My question is what are you trying to accomplish by converting pdf to other formats?

I have to compile information from a number of sources and increasing this information is published in .pdf format. The format of choice for our internel consumption is MSWord, hence the need to convert .pdf files to Word or rtf, preserving the text formatting. Anything which do the job is a suitable solution, retail or otherwise. Batch conversion would be even nicer but is not a necessity.

The only really easy way to deal with pdf conversion (backwards and forwards) is through the tools made by the people who came up with the Acrobat format: Adobe. http://www.adobe.com/products. There are several different suites of tools and none of them come cheap, but they are the best solution. I'd recommend calling up Adobe and asking them what to go with.

have you tried printing it, and scanning it via OCR, of OCR via a screen capture (never have had success the screen capture route).

*Maybe* you can just copy and paste stuff from Acrobat Read into something else. I could have sworn that I'd done something like this before, but it just seems too easy.

Thanks for the suggestions, I bit the bullet and had our IS department order the proper stuff from Adobe. The cut and paste solution definitely wasn't the way to go, the volume I'm dealing with is far to great to entertain that idea.
