I'll start this off...

Its not really a landslide. Reagan got 49 states.
They'll still bitch about Rev. Wright, Bill Ayers, etc.
Blacks are racist.

There won't be any suggestions on how to fix the trouble the country is in.

I'm hoping they will spin it the way they need to:

The Republican Party needs to embrace fiscal responsibility again, because without it they only appeal to the Christian Right.

Of course there will be spin...right wing talk radio will complain about media bias...they will probably evoke ACORN...I am sure there will be a discussion about race.

But right wing talk radio, like it did when Clinton took office, will shift its focus...as it has done in the past...and they will focus on Obama and his actions as President.

Expect right wing radio to hold Obama accountable for his promises...a resolution to the war in Iraq, a solution to our economic crisis and universal health care...if Obama fails to deliver on those promises, we will be very vulnerable in 2012.

I am sure initially Republicans will look for someone to blame...but they have only themselves to blame for becoming the very bloated Big Government bureaucracy they fought so hardly against, and which gave them their majority in the first place.

The Republicans will have difficulty if Obama governs as a moderate centrist, and keeps his own party in check. If Obama is the uniter, and Republicans fight him every step of the way, they can forget about returning to power for some time.

American politics move in cycles...this year was the perfect storm for Democrats...animosity towards the Bush Administration was not enough for them to secure the White House in 2004.

Take a dynamic and energetic candidate with a core message of change, add voter frustration with the Republicans and throw in a financial crisis...Obama stayed on message, and made his political moves with effectiveness and focus.

No, to properly address this they need to be contrite and these guys are like punch drunk boxers who have nothing left but aggression. They cannot be contrite, they cannot admit defeat or that it's partly their fault.

My guess:

1. They will start some type of "America under siege" or "Conservative underground" type of movement.

2. They will point out the wins for the party and conservatives. i.e. Marriage amendments are passing in 2 states so far, and by healthy margins.

3. They will point out that McCain did MUCH better than anyone could have expected under the circumstances.

4. They will point out that McCain was NOT a true conservative and did not run a conservative campaign.

I expect to hear much ranting about ACORN electoral fraud, along with criticism of the McCain campaign for not being "Conservative" enough, and for keeping Sarah Palin on a leash. Come January, Talk Radio will start parsing every statement and action of the new president for evidence of his Socialist intentions. By April, they will demand an accounting for the Democrats' collective failure to remedy all the problems left them by the Bush administration.

Why should there be, it is in their best interest for Obama to fail as a president

I expect them to blame John McCain for not being conservative enough, or for not attacking Obama enough, or for not pandering enough to the evangelicals, or something like that. A lot of them already disliked McCain going into the election and would rather have seen that loser Fred Thompson run (not that he would have done any better).

There won't be any suggestions on how to fix the trouble the country is in.

1. It wasn't. It should have been considering the current state of politics/nation.
2. There is no reason those real issues should go away. You libs didn't let go of Bush's connections/family/ect
3. Some are. Some Whites are. So?

4. It's not in you lib's hands. You control what goes on. YOU are responsible for the fix now - your guy ran on promises to "fix" things. Good luck with that...

Now to the "point" of this thread - Rush and Hannity aren't elected and have no real say. My guess is you just wanted to start a thread to whine about them...which isn't unusual for this forum. Do you even listen to them? If not, why do you care what their spin will be?

ACORN bitching won't last because its low level voter registration fraud by slackers looking for a quick and easy buck and had nothing to do with actual voting.
