What will be the next step in computers?

I remember back when the Commodore 64 and Radio Shack TRS-80's were cutting edge PCs. Jump 20 years in the future and many people have high speed broadband connections and PCs in their basements collecting dust that could have run an entire database for most banks in the 80's.

In a few months the rollout of Bluray and HD-DVD should be pretty exciting and fiber optics to most areas should be around the corner as well. But looking beyond that I wonder what will be the next really big step in computing.

The next immediate step is a single chip with multiple processors on it. That's already being done (Pentium D). After that, who knows?
