For me, it was...

1) Purchase Cost
2) Safety
3) Features

I ended up with a 07 Sonata (purchased new).

Initially, I was looking at nicer vehicles such as a G35 sedan, but I decided I wasn't going to throw away a bunch of money on a car. I had the Sonata paid off in just over a year and that wouldn't have happened with the other cars I was looking at.

Ditto for me.

I ended up with a 09 Sonata 5-Speed (also purchased new)

1) Power bias to rear wheels (rear favored awd systems can serve in a pinch)
2) Emphasis on handling
3) Manual transmission

DD right now is a 240SX (high comp KA build with a VLSD and coilovers), with a 300ZX TT as my toy (built top to bottom)

How's the VLSD going for your 240SX? Are you able to poweroversteer with it?
I got a VLSD for my miata, but it feels no different than the open diff. 🙁

Well it is the stock unit.
I have no trouble getting the tail out with the throttle and it is a nice predictable swing at that.
You might want to double check and make sure you are locking.
Find a nice safe spot and lay some rubber and see if you get one line or two 🙂
