Edit: I started this thread for joking about things that really have had little impact for me in the real world. Now I've seen posts of personal tragedy. My condolences to all of you who have had real losses. 🙁

Friends and Family members passing on is the hardest news anyone will have to face. If you say otherwise, then you've either never had anyone important in your life die or your priorities are really messed up. Second worst would be finding out you had a terminal illness or were struck with a permanent disablity.

Wow, I am very sorry to hear that.
If we are going to be serious here then mine is when the police knocked on my door to tell me my wife had been killed in a car accident.
 
My wife mentioned that my son ate the last of the Cookie Crisp cereal....


...and that was the saddest day of my life.

Same. My mother is a teacher, and I was at her school helping her with some computer stuff over spring break. When the principal came in and said her brother was on the phone, I knew something was up. Spending 30 minutes driving my mother home after she found out that her father died was rough.
