Pre-ordered a Fire TV Stick. $20 was the right price point to induce involuntary purchase reflex.

Same. It's both an enjoyment and a pissoff. I like having a computer in my pocket, but I resent the restrictions.

Yep. The screen is awesome and the fact that it can take 4K video is great. I still just end up using it to text most of the time though. I don't really use any apps beside the ESPN fantasy football app, which is basically just a web page.

Note4 arrived on Thursday night. It's annoying that some features from the S3 were removed...simple stuff too.

well, I didnt make the purchase, but Im paying for it. My fiancee bought a new phone for her mom. Now, she did wait until her moms old phone was like 4 or 5 years old, and she bough a low end smartphone "with slide keyboard" because her mom cant figure out touchscreen for typing. I believe its an LG.

Last thing "I" bought, was probably the cheap 4 drive NAS box and some drives, I didnt feel like dealing with my 10 year old server any more with a bunch of little 500gb drives and instead have a big slow raid5 in the NAS.

I'm in the same boat. I didn't have a phone of any kind for the longest time, and I'm leery of carrying around a tracking device. I needed a phone for work, and a smartphone is especially useful for transmitting/viewing data.

I still don't like being tracked, and I don't like having to jump through hoops to use hardware the way I wish, but that's the nature of current mobile. I could just as easily drop it again. I do like the form factor though. It's even better than the 7" tablet I used to use as my bs machine. I could see using a smartphone as a mini tablet, and not even having phone service on it. That's probably what I'll do if I stop requiring phone, and anywhere(or as "anywhere" as Sprint gets :^D ) data.

Casio PRW-3000T watch, solar charging, shock resist, altimeter, barometer, compass, temperature sensors, and syncs time via Casio's world time transmitters. Neat shit, should go a decade or more without a battery change as long as it gets occasional exposure to light.

I didn't get my first smartphone until a year ago. For several years I was on a Verizon loyalty program with my dumbphone, which I almost never used, for $25/month. I also hate monthly payments - I don't have cable for instance. Then I had to use the phone more for awhile, so I upgraded to the $50/month plan and couldn't go back. At that point I decided to get more for my money and got an unlimited 3G plan (1GB 4G, but I don't have that here) with T-Mobile for the same $50/month. :) (If you know about cheaper plans with unlimited Internet and tethering, I'm all ears.)

Nothing recently, but I bought myself a 15" Retina Macbook Pro for my birthday a few months ago. It puts every other laptop I've ever had before to shame.

Bought some headphones about 2 months ago. Sennheiser HD558's.

That's my only tech purchase in quite a while.
