What was your first regular forum?

I started on local BBSes in the Montreal area.

Eventually connected to Usenet via an Apple // BBS network. First large system was GEnie. First Internet post was in the late 80's (I can verify 1991 via searches, for the life of me I can't remember what my user name was when I was posting on the Apple usenet groups).

I have no idea what the first Internet forum I joined. I was active on Voodoo Extreme and a few others before I started posting here.

oh boy! that was before the days of the web... in 1990 i was a regular on several LISTSERV forums... and some BB's
it wasn't as much fun but beleive me you got a lot done even using a 14,400 modem

and best of all... there was no spam ... at all!!

Anandtech stole my forum virginity. Since then I've had my own forums and whored up several other spin-off forums of members here. I'm still a regular forum whore over at planethzl.

Various BBSs in the 80s and early 90s. Then moved on to usenet (and still use it somewhat). Didn't really use a web-based forum until Anandtech I believe, in late 1999 when the hot deals area opened up. I might have infrequently encountered other types of web-based forums but they were usually of the very ghetto type.

Probably gamefaqs.com, but rarely go to the site anymore, as the forums are just filled with pure garbage.

The only ones I usually check now are Anandtech, BBR to some degree, and......and that's about it.

When I was about 13-14, the forums @ www.cmgsccc.com

Spent more time in the IRC chat room than on the forums though. Then spent a lot of time on AIM talking with friends. These are the first 'real' forums I've posted regularly on.

Oh, and I read regular as "RECTANGULAR."

Hardforum then I got so disgusted with it being down literally for weeks on end sometimes. I need a break from hardware sometimes so I linger on ATOT and only visit Hardforum on occassion these days.
