What was your first really great pc game?

Original doom series all the way. First game I ever got into and downloaded maps. you can just mod so much with that game its not even funny....
 
Technically the first PC game that took a lot of my time was the Robotron, but the first "great" game I played on the PC was XWing in my opnion. I played through every one of the levels and the expansion packs. I don't think I've played a game more since then (well...possibly couterstrike...but that is iffy).
 
Back in the day when the only thing that mattered was FUN, King's Quest series. Scorched Earth has gotta be up there also on my list. 😀

And Wolf3D was the first game I was ever addicted to...😛

Yep! I was going to say Star Control 2 also. Awsome game! Some of my favorite music ever in a game.

BTW - If anyone wants to try it out, the source code was released and a group made it playable on current systems. LINK!

Also Ultima 7 and X-Wing.
