Pizza "the" Hut when I was 16. I worked there long enough to save up and buy a Nintendo 64.

Free personal pan for every 6 hours worked! JACKPOT!

first, ice cream store in princeton called "halo pub"; earned a little bit more once i learned how to make all the different coffees they had.

second, gap

third, best buy selling computers (was damn good at it). haha

edit: i just remembered that the best thing ever at BB was one day after closing, the loss prevention team got everyone together to show us how they caught someone stealing CDs in the store earlier that day. they showed us a surveillance video of the dude stuffing CDs down his pants.

the best part was that i immediately recognized the dude on the video as a kid i knew in HS (not really a friend, but was in our circle of friends). i was dying inside of laughter.

other than that, i dont particularly remember BB being a bad place to work when i was there.

worked for my dad and neighbors on the farm ages: 10-18. Drove tractors, swathers, combines, trucks, and various other manners of heavy machinery. Also hauled bails for neighbors. Damn those small square bails. Also fixed fence, and maintained farm equipment. Taught me to despise manual labor...

First job was working on a farm.
Going through the turkey houses in the mornings , picking out the dead turkeys, several every day.
Burning dead turkeys.
Picking corn, tomatoes, or whatever needed doing.
Tobacco - if you hate smokers now, just try working with the stuff , ugh, tobacco worms.

I left out the really fun parts.
Giving hogs shots.
Really fun when you miss the hog and hit your own leg. :(

at 14 i was walking to the store and saw a new restaurant opening next to the circle k. poked my head in to see what kind, and started talking to the guys working. they hired me to help clean out the restaurant and set up stuff with them, gave me a dishwasher job after they opened. worked there for 3 years until they closed. had other jobs at the same time, but that one was way better. learned how to cook italian food and make pizzas there.

my first job was in 7th grade, I went out and detassled corn from 4:00 am to 3:00 pm for about three weeks.

Paid 6 an hour at the time which was an amazing amount of money for a kid.

From 14-17 or so I was a clerk on the Chicago Stock Exchange. Nepotism for the win! The second real job I had was at Argonne National Labs the summer before I started college.

I think I was 15 years old, and I picked blueberries for 14 bucks a day. I had to be picked up by the farmer at 6am, and came home at around 6pm. I did it for a week, and I said fuck this I'd rather be broke and play video games at home.

There's no bathroom out there at the blueberry farm. I hid in the blueberry bush to pee and I wasn't the only one. Because of this knowledge I'm always uncomfortable eating blueberry muffins.
