my first gaming card that was mine was a Millennium G200

it was an interesting card because it was a beast in non-3d accelerated games

Very first video card: Matrox Millennium

First 3d accelerated video card: Matrox Mystique

First 3dfx card: The original Voodoo

First nVidia card: Tnt

First GPU: GeForce 256 DDR

First ATI card/GPU: Radeon 64 vivo.

First 3d accelerated game: Tomb Raider
 
I don't know what the first gpu of ANY kind is as it would be integrated video. But the first GPU I had that came in physical video card form is a Radeon 9600xt. It played WoW and Rome Total war well enough. 🙂
