After 30 seconds, we want to have the song abruptly stop/make a "fake failing/scratching" noise and the visuals change from a slideshow of baby pictures to a music video of Vanilla Ice's "Ninja Rap" (from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II).

At that point we're going to do about a minute of the "Ninja Rap" routine a'la Leonardo, Rafael, Donatello and Michaelangelo and then revert to dancing like normal to the remainder of "Let's Stay Together."

Nice idea, I suppose, but doing something like that has become so cliche that there was a TV show about it: Rock the Reception

What was your first dance song? Did you choreograph anything and did you take dance lessons beforehand?

Fallen by Lauren Wood (from the movie Pretty Woman).

We took dance lessons and choreographed our first dance.

How I wish we could have used I Will Follow You Into the Dark, but it came out a year later.
What a wonderfully amazing song. Every time i hear it, it brings me to tears.

We wanted to do that song too, but my MIL had a fit about it being to "morbid" 😕

We danced to In My Life by the Beatles, only the DJ messed up and started playing Crazy by Gnarls Barkley.

we took lessons - and it was between worth it and not... not - because we had to go like 4 or 5 times.

i can't remember the first dance song, but AC/DC shook me all night long was somewhere in the middle and i think the whole wedding party was out there given'er

We didn't have dancing at our wedding.

Nor did we, and the world is better off for it 😛

Not only did we have our first dance and typical band music dancing, we also hired someone to come in to teach and lead "Israeli Dancing" for an hour. It was a blast.

We eloped so no song.

You can do this yourself, it's not that hard. Free Audio Editing software Audacity is pretty good and will do what you need.

The hard part is finding the audio sources. Then it's mostly drag/drop and copy/past type stuff.

I might be willing to do it, but, seriously give it a try first.
