1963 Ford Econoline van, electric green with an in-line 6 and a 4-speed factory column shifter.

I totaled it trying to drive on a fresh sheet of ice, on Offutt AFB in Omaha (Jan 19, 1974). Plowed my squadron deputy commander's Dodge while he was getting tanked in the O Club. Needless to say, I was immediately removed from second-shift lead, and was retreaded out of my AFCS as soon as he found an excuse. I went from radio repairman to construction equipment trainee (with a lot of manual labor).

1982 Toyota Corolla SR5 bought used in 1987.
I'm guessing gas was a little over $1 a gallon. I remember I could fill it up and get change back from $15.

1988 Plymouth Reliant wagon in 1995.
Not a bad car really. Gas was about $1 and it would get a max of 27 mpg on the highway.

My first car was when I was 16 for $2500 (parents bought it for me)

1993 Mazda 626 LX
i4, automatic
I don't remember the price of gas then

I still drive it. It's been a pretty good car and should be okay for a few more months till I graduate and get something tight. Just in the past year or so though I've noticed much more rust recently then over years before that.

That reminds of me one particular friend who is a little younger than me who has had 6 cars (that I remember, might've missed 1), I forget exactly but it went like: smashed, broke down, broke down, totalled, stolen (in Detroit for a weekend and it got stolen of course)... wow

Make: Ford
Model: Torino
Year: 1970's (bought used by my parents in the 1980's a few years before I got my license)
Color: black hardtop over orange

It had black interior, bench seats and an AM only radio. However, under the hood it was a monster.

Also, if it is still around, I would not sit in the back seat if I were you ;)

'82 Chevette "Scooter". $200 bucks + a new clutch and I had a car. 56,000 original miles, 4 speed, tossed in a cd player and speakers :p Drove it 3 years, until the under body rusted to the point of no return.

Had left hand nuts on the rear wheels

lol - The 1st car I owned was a 1963 Chrysler Newport which I bought from my mother in 1970 or 1971. It too had left hand lug nuts on the left side of the vehicle (Chryslers did not have left handed lug nuts on both rear wheels). I went to buy new tires one day and the guy in the tire shop could not remove the wheels. He told me I'd have to take it somewhere and have them welded off and get new drums. Knowing better, I told him they were left-handed threads and to reverse his impact wrench. I was lucky he didn't strip the lug nuts.

The '63 Newport also had a push-button transmission - no shift lever on the floor or on the steering wheel column. I took it to the local car wash - the old kind where you got out and someone drive the vehicle through the car wash. Apparently, the car wash attendant had never seen a push button transmission. I watched as he tried the turn signals and finally rolled down the window and yelled "how do you put this thing in gear?"
