1988 Toyota Celica GT with 110k Miles on it for $1,000. Bought it at a car auction and it was the coolest first car ever (in 2001)

So many great memories with it and I loved it. I gave it to my friend when I went to Iraq and he ran the car down to the ground 🙁

2003 325i I think it was 750/month or so lease.

Holy crap, $750/mo, even with 0 down .. is just utterly insane for a 325i. And a lease at that. Are you including the insurance costs as well or something? 335i leases right now for nice equipped models are in the $450-$500ish range.

I was given my first actual car, but it did not last long as it was aging fast.

My first actual car was my 2001 Neon R/T, brand new in 2001, when I was 19.

I miss that car so much, it was awesome!

I was 18, I didn't know any better, I purchased a 95 Neon for $1500 (not a bad price)... I had just started school, I could have had my parents take care of me but I was determined to make it on my own and rely on myself in the most economical way possible until I graduated and had better income. I was working 7 hours of graveyard shift a day and was paying for everything myself including tuition and that was all I was able to pay myself without sinking myself in debt like my buddies did. A year later the neon dies and I upgraded to a 96 Accord 2 Dr 5spd for $3500 (best $3500 I spent) lasted me 5.5 years until I graduated, kept it after graduating...2 months later someone crashed into me and I then decided to get my lovely CTS.

I miss my Accord (good for how much it cost) but definitely not my Neon that POS I hope it burns in hell!

Got the beater hand me down from my dad when I was 17. A 90 or 91 Oldsmobile Cutlass Sierra with ~235k mi, he had used it for working on railroad jobs.

First car I bought was a 2001 z28 Camaro, 10k cash when I was 21 in 2004.

He was very wealthy, was a firefighter and was leaving the country in 3 days before i met him. Found it on craigslist saw it that night and took it home the next day. So far the car has been beautiful and the only thing I've replaced was the clutch (burnt is out not driving properally, was still new to stick)

My parents own a 2006 in white. i learned to drive on it although it was auto. I really wanted a neon srt 4 but i thank god i didn't three of my friends have them and there breaking down every other month.
That is great. Some deals are just rocking and craigslist for cars is the place with them. A few years ago I bought an older maxima, based on today's age it would have been like buying today a 2003 Maxima with leather and 77k miles for only $5500. A virtual impossibility. Although your deal was better. I wasn't even looking for a car at the time.

if you're patient and hit craigslist daily you can get some nice stuff. last week I saw a lifted, beautiful looking F150 with 4X4 perhaps a 2004 but only about 100k miles and asking $6500. Crew cab, too.

That is a awesome deal, and I though that I got a good deal last year with my 07 Camry SE V6 at 18,000 miles for $15,000 CAD (the only work I have done on it was an oil change and a set of new tires 3 weeks back because I got 3 holes in it).

Yeah i love my little tc, i done things to it to make it one of a kind. But the best thing about getting the car was my sister buying me a little $100 tom tom, man that thing saves my ass over and over daily(i know coral springs well, but anywhere else i use my gps)

1971 SAAB 99LE with 4spd manual transmission. Paid around $900 for it in 1983 or thereabouts. The car had 92,000 original miles on it...great car for northeast winters, not so good for summers (car had no A/C and overheated on the warmest days).

2000 Chevy Cavalier, bought it when I was 16 (back in 2006). It only had 65K miles on the odo, and came with new brake pads, fresh fluids, new tires, and a full multi-point inspection. I paid $5200 including taxes/fees. It may not be the most stylish car, and it might not have many amenities (no power windows, no power locks, 3spd auto), but it's been surprisingly reliable and it gets good gas mileage.

1979 Ford Thunderbird w/ 351W. My brother and two sisters were both bough a car when they turned 16(low priced used car). When I turned 16 I got, sorry we bought a motorhome and can't do anything. Here you go. It was the first car my step-dad bought new. It was three years older than me. They gave me the deal that they would pay for gas. A few months of 8MPG and they sort of soured on that. I eventually moved on to a 91 Geo Storm my grandparents bought for me. Until I was ~22 I averaged a car a year.

18 years old, $500 for a 14 year old 87 Dodge Aries K-Car with 47k miles. Replaced the radiator and off I went, drove for 2.5 years before I killed it.
