Not sure I ever had a favorite, definitely tiers though something along the lines of:

Tier 1:
Apple Jacks, Boo Berry, Captain Crunch Peanut Butter, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Cookie Crisp, Count Chocula, French Toast Crunch, Frosted Cheerios, Frosted Wheaties, Fruity Pebbles, Golden Grahams, Lucky Charms, Life Cinnamon, Pops, Reese Puffs, Rice Krispies Treats, Waffle Crisp

Tier 2:
Berry Kix, Cocoa Krispies, Froot Loops, Frosted Flakes, Honey Bunches of Oats, Honey Nut Cheerios, Trix

Tier 3:
Whatever my parents ate as a last resort after being cracked out and finishing the above boxes of cereal and having to wait a few days until mom bought next "week's" supply

Honey Bunches of Oats is a good one, probably my favorite cereal as an adult. I don't buy cereal terribly often anymore though.

Man, thinking of cereal brings back memories.
By 3rd grade my parents were already off to work before i had to get ready for school. Pouring the milk on my cereal and watching thunder cats then bionic six, had to leave during the middle of boinic six. Then the walk through the park to get to school. Ahh memories.

It should be noted that this was my favorite while it was available.

But it was only around for a limited time, leading me to go with Reeses Puffs as a long standing first choice.

I mean, I ate Nintendo cereal because I was obligated to devour all things Nintendo at that point... but I don't think it was actually that good :p

Oh, I just remembered the Bill & Ted cereal, that was amazing.

It was any cereal that was in the house. I would wake up at 4 in the morning and raid the cereal box. Survival of the fittest when i was growing up.

I was always a huge cereal fan, but if I had to narrow it down to one, it would be Cocoa Pebbles. It literally tasted better when I was a kid. They reformulated it numerous times, and reformulated what made it special right out. I still like it ok, but it isn't what it was. My honorable mention list is too long to write, so I'll add some that were awful...

Kix
Rice Krispies
Cocoa Krispies

I think that's it. Even the blandest "adult" cereals had something to offer.

My Mom sent me across the street to get Frankerries...as I went into the store..there was a newspaper box with the headline "Elvis Presley Dead"...and when I went into the store..they pulled frankenberry off the shelf.

Not a good day to this young kid.

Fruity Pebbles, Cocoa Pebbles and Crunch Berries. Also liked the bite size frosted shredded wheat.

I am more of a Raisin Bran or Frosted Mini-wheat guy now. I don't eat much cereal now due to a fear of kidney stones. Too much calcium might make it worse.

Life. Still have it once in a while.

Same here. Just had a bowl a week ago. Talk about a cereal that you have to plow through fast before it turns to liquid crap in your bowl.

And I actually like Grape nuts. But I need to add sugar to that stuff.

Way back when, Cookie Crisp. When I tried it again in the 2000s, it wasn't nearly as good.

This was my fave as well as a kid since after you finish, you end up with a bowl of chocolate milk. Nope, not as good when you're an adult and trying to avoid too much sugar.

Probably never one, but I always fond of: Fruity and Coco Pebbles, Corn Pops, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Capt Crunch Peanut Butter Crunch, Cracklin Oat Bran, Honey Bunches of Oats, Apple Jacks, Rice Crispies, Cheerios.

Not sure which of those I could stomach these days. I just don't like sugar and overly-sweet things.

Ah the days of the Golden Grahams and Life (Mikey likes it) commercials.

I remember actually taking a tour of Kellog's in Battle Creek, MI when I was a kid. Smelled like Corn Flakes.

Kellogs had a plant where I live and it always had a cereal smell. Usually some bran cereal, though.

I lived in Battle Creek for a bit, you could smell it from a couple miles away, would smell like a different cereal on different days.

Dig, I was a kid before they fucked up breakfast cereal with all the added sugar...

Before the cocoa puffs, sugar pops, frosted flakes and the plethora of shit they keep coming out with nowadays like new TV shows there was:

Corn flakes
Cheerios
Rice Krispies
Raisin Bran
Shredded Wheat

i.e. relatively wholesome food. If you wanted it sweeter, you added raisins, maybe some chopped bananas. Or sprinkled some sugar on it, after adding milk. I did that.

I went through a kick a few years ago where I tried a lot of the new cereals, visited threads where people talked about their favorites. But I got over it and don't buy them anymore. Not good for you/me.
