i would say order of ecclesia followed by portrait of ruin, and then harmony of Dissonance. the Sorrow games were good, but they were far from the best.

i cant believe that there wont be anymore igs castlevania games, but I am sure he will do something good independent of konami.

Symphony of the Night.

Was this released on a handheld? If so this, as they will never make a Castlevania I like more.

Out of the ones I know are on handheld my favorite is Portrait of Ruin. Partially because I like how one of the main characters has the same first name as me, and the female character yells his name when they switch back and forth.

In fact her yelling his name is the text tone on my phone lol.

Yeah, while I'm sure someone will call it unfair, it was unlockabled in the PSP version of Rondo of Blood (which is why I listed Rondo first.) And yes, it is technically called Dracula X Chronicles, but using the "Dracula X" moniker brings bang painful memories of the original shitty port of which was based off the original Rondo of Blood.

is a 2.5D remake of Rondo of Blood for the PlayStation Portable.[7] It includes the original game and a port of its sequel, Symphony of the Night, as unlockable content.[1] Symphony of the Night included the option to play as Maria (as did the Sega Saturn version, but based on Rondo of Blood version), as well as redone scripts, sound effects and new voice acting

I should check if that's on PSN, be nice to replay on the Vita.
