What was your favorite class in Diablo 2?

Just dug it out of the closet after a few years of not playing it, with news of the patch and all. It and its expansion pack took over my life for about 6 months and i just played single player! (did not play online, did not have broadband in my area at the time and the hacks were very bad online)

I always loved the pally's thorns aura so that enemies killed themselves more often than i did just by hitting me.

I had to say I had the most fun with my level 99 Amazon and Barbarian.

My sorc could kill most crowds (static/crappy BLizz, then a new-style FO one), assasin was just a lot of fun and less popular (fun pvp too), and my Amazon/jav was great for cows. A corpse explode Necro was cool too, except for single guys.

I loved the amazon before they nerfed the exploding/fire arrow? The one which acts like a firewall on one tile. Pile up a bunch of these and watch things burn :evil:
The sorc before the firewall nerf was also fun.

A lot of things were before the nerfs. For single player at least anyways.

Barbarian in .08 and .09 and pre D2 Classic.

A barb could be anything...

A BvB type barb with 10K Def, 1k DMG, 2k Life (Classic stats) using an Ornate, Exe, Sigons, Hsarus, etc.

or... A sorc/zon killing vita speed barb using either Shield/Sword or Lance...

3-4.5k Life using Viper Casque, Bloodfist, Blinkbat / Hawkmail, Deaths, 320-350 lance with -40 Req, etc. or a Sorc killing barb with Irathas set, Hawkmail, -40 Req 340 dmg Lance,
etc.

Or a Shield/Sword speed barb (very popular in .09) which had 170 str/110 dex and around 2k-2.5k Life which could block zon hits and still kill sorcs with all the resistance gear.

The barbarian, if used correctly, was God.

(This is Classic D2, of course.)

Necro because he is the only class that can kill all other classes if tweaked with the teleport armor.

Bone wall + golem + bone spirit for Amazons.
Bone prison / bone wall + iron maiden + bone spirit for Barbarians.
Bone prison / bone wall + bone spirit for Paladins.
Absorb gear + bone spirit for Sorceress.
Just bone spirit Assassins and Druids (Assassins totally sucked, some microing taking down an elemental Druid).

Necros were the best. I solod Hell in hardcore with my 1.10 BS necro. Amazons were incredibly easy to play and paladins were second in terms of fun.
