#1: In an above-ground pool with a couple of friends, I was waving around one of those nets on the 20' pole. After a couple of swings one of the guys saw me, dove, and knocked the pole out of my hands and out of the pool. I looked up and saw a power line sitting about 15' above us, and wondered how in the hell I avoided hitting the thing.

#2: Working on the shoulder of a highway during the summer, I was hit by a truck doing 60mph that had veered over on the shoulder. This one really gets to me every time I think about it, because I had straightened up (was bent over) to stretch out my back when the entire side of the truck swept across the front of my chest. Another .2 seconds bent over and my head would've been launched about 200 yards.

i can't think of any myself, but i watched 3 freinds almost get boadsidded by two large trucks going 70MPH. I was following them down this small road, and the driver didn't really know exactly where the road interscted the highway. You go around this corner, and its right there below you, so it is real hard to stop because you are going downhill, too. I noticed he went around the corner a little fast, and when I got around the corner, slower of course, the car was sitting sideways on the white line, just as two large trucks flew by honking their horn. They came around the corner and skidded to a stop......just in time.
