Of any game you bought and played last year what was the one you would rate #1? Feel free to also list an honorable mention and worst rated :) Keep in mind it's a game you played in 2010, it didn't necessarily have to come out in 2010 though.

For me the tail end of 2010 opened my eyes to Dragon Age. It's by far the best PC game I've played last year and quite frankly the best I've played in a long time. In an age of PC games with a console feel I didn't experience it with this title. The game play felt fluid and natural with a small learning curve involved with pause/fight. The voice acting and story line are suburb in my eyes, the graphics well done and music and sound just right. I hadn't had an engrossing desire to come back to a game over and over until it's finished like this since Civilization IV.

Honorable mention: Will go to Battlefield: Bad Company II mainly because it's the newest shooter I've played that I actually stuck with and didn't get completely pissed off that I stopped playing. Multiplayer was engaging to me and not over powering. Graphics and sound were good and overall I liked the infantry/vehicle balance.

Worse rated game of 2010: Civilization V. My god I've never been so disappointed in a game that I anticipated so much. I knew there were to be major changes to gameplay, but the direction went so far south for me that it's hard for me to play for more then 10 minutes without getting the urge to hurl. I really want to like this game, but at this time I'm embarrassed to own it.

Dawn of War II: Chaos Rising.

Expanding on the awesomeness that was DoW II by adding in Chaos and twisting the story to be extremely interesting, if a little awkward for the sequel, Retribution later this year.

For me, Mass Effect 2 was the best game overall in 2010.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 was the best online experience.

The game that consumed most of my time in 2010 was Mount & Blade: Warband.

Honestly, as much as i wanted to say BC2. Waiting for 8 months for new maps REALLY killed it.

Specially considering i had the game since day one.

I never paid attention to Mass Effect 1/2 as I 'thought' it was some silly Microsoft 360 game ported to the PC. After having played Dragon Age now I'm going to have to check out Mass Effect :)
The first is "very ported" looking, but ME2 uses Unreal 3, so it looks and performs better than the original on PC. Well worth the money!

ME2 by far.

Also, both ME games use the Unreal Engine. ME1 uses 3.0, and ME2 uses 3.5.
Really? It looked so bad i thought it was some proprietary engine. Well, there goes the complete console port confirmation. It's a great game if you can get past the slightly old graphics.

The only thing that really bugged me was the awfully detailed clothing/armors and the combat was a bit annoying as a specter considering the cooldowns. I'm glad they addressed all that stuff in ME2, which is the reason i give it #1.

You mean which one sucked least?
I guess for me Fallout New Vegas. It was actually a lot more fun than I thought it would be. Unfortunately I whipped it in 3 days. Good thing it was on sale.

Best PC Game for me was Stalker COP. Since this IS the PC gaming section.
Best Multi-Platform is ME2.

Honorable mention to BF:BC2

Fallout: Vegas - Logged 115 hours, played through it with 3 separate characters. Just might be inclined to play over Fallout 3 with all the DLC now.

Settles 7 - Kinda good, loved the micromanaging.

Best: DoW2 Chaos Rising
Worst: Easily, Supreme Commander 2

Sup Com 2 did not live up to the original, but if you think it was the worst game, I bet you did not play Command and Conquer 4 did you??

My Best game, Mass Effect 2. Worst as you can probably guess from my comment would be command and conquer 4. Maybe they tried to introduce novel gameplay, but the command point limit and lack of resourse gathering totally ruins the game. Normally, one tries to keep his units alive and get more kills than deaths. However, in this game, you just rush in your units as fast as you can so they can get killed and you can build more. And it seems highly unbalanced to be limited to such a small number of units when NOD has two or three crawlers and units all over the map.

Fallout New Vegas edges out Mass Effect 2 for me because as good as ME2 was, playing it once was enough for me, at least until a year or two from now. FONV had me wanting to restart again immediately at Very Hard to see more and try different paths.

So:
- FO:NV
- Mass Effect 2
- Dragon Age

Best: Starcraft 2. Delivered exactly what I wanted. Updated engine with good graphics and a custom map making system that is the most amazing thing ever. Suck it minecraft. While you're making inanimate forts, I'm making an awesome Space Hulk game.

Worst: Gonna have to say Sup Com 2.

Worst in my Mind even though gameplay isn't the worst: DOW2 + Expansions

This series is relics way of say SCREW YOU to 40k fans everywhere. The game engine DOES NOT WORK FOR 40K. WHY CAN'T THEY REALIZE THIS.. STOP TRYING. THAT BANEBLADE WAS THE WORST EXCUSE FOR A TANK I'VE EVER SEEN.

Nope, I try to avoid obvious turds, SC2 didn't exhibit much in the turd signs before release. I've played quite a few games the previous year and SC2 just instantly pops in my mind every time for some kind of list like this and when I see SC2 on sale I instantly try and save people from spending money on it. It was just a fucking horrible game. Had nothing on SC1 and to top it off it was just a horribly generic RTS all around.

I'll be damned if I touch another RTS by Chris Taylor again after that shit.
