4GB hard drive for $170 last week.

Damn I could buy an 80GB for $40 after rebate and coupon, that's 20 times the storage for more than 1/4th the price.
that was a good deal. i only did the $50 deal, peachtree involved laying too much on a rebate... don't have my lamp yet. i was looking forward to the lamp.

leather interior for a car. leather sofa set for your living room costs as much at retail, and you get a whole lot more leather.

This was a year ago. I walked into F.Y.E. ("For Your Entertainment" - a store that specializes in entertainment such as music and games).

I saw they were selling Quake 2 for $59.99. They were nuts!

FYE is known to sell ALOT of stuff overpriced though my friend did pick up a "Lost Prophets" cd for $10 (some not-so-big-named band that he likes).

Lost Prophets are good, everyone should pick up "The Fake Sound of Progress" album, good stuff.

Oh yeah, another one......while Nintendo 64 was for $299 in every store, there was this one store that wanted to be different. They sold N64 for $450!!!!!!

WHAT!!!!!

Back in 1999, I worked at target. We started selling "Millenium Countdown Clocks" for $17.99...this was a cheap little LCD clock with a countdown for the year 2000 (assuming you set it). The damn thing was small enough to fit in your pocket.

Well, as the weeks went on and on, and 2000 got closer and closer, the price kept dropping, but no one bought any (spent all the money on bottled water and bomb shelters, I guess). I watched it drop to $6.99, then $2.99, then, finally they actually started selling at $0.99 each. I bought one, just as an artifact to human stupidity...my friends and I get a kick out of junk like this.

So then, on new year's eve, the counter reaches 00:00:00:00....blinks three times, then goes blank. Whee.

What a worthless piece of junk.

FYE, Camelot Music, and Sam Goody can all go to hell and suck me on their way down.

Overpriced crap. The FYE in the mall sells the frickin White Album by the Beetles for $21.99!!!

3-4 year old DVDs (Pulp Fiction, Jurassic Park, Gremlins, etc) are still going for $29.99

The Godfather Collection...a sweet ass $119.99

EB sells it for $79.99
Hastings sells it for $69.99

What gets me is that I see people walking around the mall with FYE bags all the time, yet they can literally walk into the mall parking lot and walk/drive across the street (we're talking 200 ft at the most) and pick up the same new CD's and DVD's for $14.99. Buy them used for $9.99 or less.

I swear, these people all need to be lined up and shot. What a waste of money...

Probably novelty items like Beanie Babies. When they first came out, I remember walking in the mall and the vendor was selling them to old folks with expendable incomes for $300 a pop.

Just take a stroll though an art gallery and see what some people will paid for ?Fine Art?. You will not find Jackson Pollock paint drip for less than $35K up ward to a cool million. And the Duchamp porcelain Urinal is priced over 3 million.

The hotel I stayed at in Maui ( Grand Wailea ) wanted $20 for a pint of Haagen Daz ice cream.

(the travel agency screwed up our reservations, so we got to stay there for free 🙂 )

In Sweden:

The equivalent to about £1.20 - £1.40 for a normal size twix which i can get for about 30p back in england
