For me, it was bungi jumping. It was definately THE most exiting moment of my life so far... that and having a bike accident, but that wasn't intentional so it doesn't count.

I was a security guard for 5 years. I've done a lot many people call 'daring'. I've taken knives away from people, IV poles, faced down a 6'4" 285 lb. former semi pro linebacker on meth, quite a few other things.

That last one had to be pretty freaky...

I am a pretty conservative and shy person. My friends and I took a trip to Las Vegas and they suprised me by taking me to this place called the Spearman Rhino. ( A strip club.) I was shocked and nervous to say the least but i tried to have fun. Its not really my thing. ANyways, i got a lap dance and thats the most daring thing i've done. I don't regret any of it but its safe to say i won't being doing it again.

Maetryx here,

I told this young lady that I thought here husband was a complete d!ckhead and that she needed to leave him. I also told here that I was attracted to her, but that it was beside the point, because the most important thing was that she should leave the dirtbag, scum of the earth lowlife excuse for a human spouse.

She left him. He threatened to kill me a couple times. Once he drove to her parent's house where she was living after the breakup in order to deliver on the telephonic promise to kill me. I thwarted him by the simple expediency of wielding a .45 semi automatic handgun. No shots fired, never even aimed it at him.

Then, he tried to run me off the road in a chance encounter on a busy 4-lane road downtown. I executed a quick blinker free left turn down a side road, which he shot past, and then I U-turned on the side road and got back on the original road headed in my original direction. Like I anticipated, it never occured to him that I would just get back on the road and continue the way I was going, so I lost him. She was with me that day, and because he violated the restraining order by trying to kill us with his car, we managed to get his ass in front of a judge where he was ordered to take anger management classes and could not contact this young lady for a full calendar year (not even by phone).

Anyway, I married this young lady and if I owned a time machine, I wouldn't change a thing. We've been together for 5.5 years now.

After being stationed at a Pershing Nuke unit in Germany for about 6 months as a guard and a trainee on the missile systems I became privy to our main targets. They were not military installations, but cities. After much anguish, I finally went to see a Lt. Col. and asked to be removed from the Personnel Reliability Program. He asked why and I told him, calmly and honestly that if we EVER tried to fire those missiles and I was there, I would take the M16 and the 100 rounds they had us carry and fire into the solid rocket units and blow all the missiles in place because of my moral/religious convictions about killing non-combatants.

Then all hell broke lose. He tried to put me in jail. He tried to have me barred from promotion and removed from service. He tried everything. Only problem was, I signed up as an infantryman and not as a missile crewman. In the end I ended up being "rewarded" for my beliefs, in that I got transfered (after a few months) to an infantry unit and then got the opportunity to go to and graduate from France's Commando School.

I WAS scared crapless for a while though.

I went skydiving. That was quite a thrill. A few looong seconds of being frozen in sheer panic... until the 'chute opened up.

Just once? ;) ;) :Q :D

Most daring thing....hmmm....

I remember when I was in grade 9...me and a couple of buddies used to ride our bikes to school.
So, as usual, we used to "have trouble" stopping at the bike racks...which usually meant skidding :D
The bike racks were right by the front door of the school.
So were racing up to the doors as usual, and wouldn't you know it, we had to skid :D
So I start skidding, sideways a bit......when the fat principal walks out.
Terror captivated me for a split second.
Then I proceeded to skid right into the bike rack. Didn't fall though.
My buds, who were behind me, didn't have any "trouble stopping"....bastards ;)

For a rescue a few years back, I was helped into the 9 inch stream passage feet first to dig the channel back out so we could get some trapped individuals out of the back of the cave. The passage is 350 ft long and usually has 4 inches of air. But due to inclimate weather for 3 straight days, the water rose and washed the trench that was in place shut so the bigger boys (we are only talking 160 pounders). We had 1 inch of air space. Not even enough to keep your light on your head. Wetsuit and cylum stick was all you got on that dig trip. No more than 20 minutes in the water (most people only lasted 10 minutes due to hypothermia) at a time with a max of three dips in before you were required to make the 2 1/2 hour trip back to the surface for sleep and hot food. Talking about a miserable day.

For a rope rescue class I was teaching, I left the students package me in a litter and haul me up to and in a sixth floor window. Unfortunately, they had some problems and ended up flipping the little that I was looking straight down. (I was still securely tied in) The lead in structor talked them through the little manuever to pop me in the window. I was just interesting going from looking at the pretty clouds to "why am I looking at the parking lot and that's a good distance back to earth?" After all these years of teaching, I still don't like heights.

when i was 14 got into this fight with 2 older ppl, i assume they were at least seniors in HS if not older...not like i had a choice, i knew a fight would ensue cuz i obviously couldn't outrun them...so we threw down and i had so much adrenaline pumping, i seriously thought i was gonna die :Q but i didn't feel any pain during the whole ordeal...of course i don't regret it at all, first time for everything eh?...so i ended up with my left eye blood shot with popped capillaries, swollen all around the eye (impaired my vision for about a week) and a few bruises and scratches...and dang was it painful for the following several days... :frown:
