I used to shoot craps regularly because all the books I read on the subject talked about how everyone at one time or another turns $100 into $10,000 sooner or later. I practiced, managed my money, (only bought in for $400 and left once that was gone) and went 2 or three times a month for a year. I saw a dude roll 14 straight 6's and 8,s. I raised bet every 3 hits and took full odds. After the baloon popped I had $1,600. I went home and was splitting the money into 4 piles to continue the quest and thought to myself that I was caught in a spinning wheel with no way out. That was my last time to the casino.

My wife has won us a $1800 travel agency gift card (used it for a Caribbean cruise a few years back,) as well and many, many $20-200 scratch-off lotto tickets.

As far as pure luck goes, I've never really "won" anything that I can readily think of. I did win a graphing calculator for my HS science project 12 years ago.
