I try to make as much from scratch as I can. This week I made homemade noodles, homemade gnocchi, enchiladas, and beef stroganoff. My husband made french onion soup from scratch tonight. Yum! We have made so many soups from scratch that I find nearly any canned soup disgusting.

two pig hearts in cream with parsley and mashed potatoes. Yummy. (When I went to the supermarket and bought them, I noticed the woman in front of me looking at them with a wtf is that/that looks disgusting, look on her face)

Picadillo, last Sunday - then had leftovers of it for dinner this week. Grad school doesn't really leave me with much time to cook.

chili

added some smoked pork jowl and ground up dried chipotles

had to be careful with the chipotles, found one with greenish mold fur in it and another with what looked to be toner... i guess they smoke jalapenos in any condition.

Just made an omelette with browned butter sage and fresh chives for breakfast.

My wife made curried carrot coconut soup with fresh baked bread and homemade butter earlier this week.

buttermilk pancakes this morning
earlier this week: salsa, chicken etouffe,

last friday: charcoal grilled home made pizza and sous vide duck.

pot roast (in crock pot) with red potatoes and baby carrots.

i browned the tri-tip meat first with flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. gravy had cream of mushroom soup, beef broth, red wine, dry onion soup mix, worcestershire sauce, bay leaf, sauteed chopped onions and minced garlic.

tender and delicious. 🙂

think french toast is for brunch today. :awe:

hope this isn't considered a necro, I actually thought about this thread while cooking dinner tonight 😀

I made grilled chicken sandwiches for my boyfriend and I with chicken, bacon, pepperjack cheese, and buffalo sauce. they were pretty awesome.

Took you 3 years to have something for the thread? :colbert::biggrin:

Ground some nice beef and bacon together in a meat grinder and made the most badass hamburgers ever.

From scratch?

Nothing. I dont have time to grow wheat and sugar, nor milk cows and pasteurize their essence, nor grow wood & chop it for building a butter churn. Life is too short for that nonsense.
