Inspired by this thread.
Maybe a bit easier than the other thread.
For me it's easy. It was just before I graduated HS (actually called a 4 year engineering school back in Sweden) and getting my engineering degree.
I was looking for a job to fill in time between school and military service. A period of 1.5 years or so. It was the final few days in school and I walked into the office of the student union/organisation and saw an ad posted on the door. A university needed a fresh guy from school to be a technical assistant for a year or so. (They had been using graduates from my school earlier)
I figured... what the hell, that sounds cool. I went up there for an interview and got the job!! w00t! They were developing low noise superconductive receivers to be used in Radio Astronomy.
I've been in the business ever since.
I could have ended up in a normal company, which would have sucked. I did work at Ericsson from '95 - '99 and I consider those the dark years.
So what's your story?
