My ViewSonic V75F monitor, my IBM keyboard, and my Kensington "Mouse In A Box" that I got for $7 after my fancy infa-red cordless mouse got too annoying. Unless is dies, my HP DeskJet 560C will probably be around as well. Oh, almost forgot the 3.5 floppy, I still have a lot of old stuff on floppy, probably never get rid of it.

Ok, here goes:

APC Back-UPS 500VA

Inwin Q500 case

Ultraplex 40Max (at least until Plextor comes out with a DVD drive)

Plexwriter 820

Logitech Marble FX+

Viewsonic Optiquest V75

I would include my Microsoft Natural keyboard, but it's getting old and crusty, it's bound to need replacing within the next couple years.

My two remaining pieces of hardware that are original to my frankenstein computer:

  1. The trusty but old USR Sportster 56K hardware ISA modem. Doesn't have the best connect rates in adverse line conditions, but I think 56K is joke so once disabled, it connects at 33.6 rates like a champ. I still need it for faxes and *GASP* should my broadband connection ever crap out.
The Palo Alto Micron case that is the only other original piece of equipment from my old Micron PII-266. What can I say? It's a cramped case with an old ATX 2.0 powersupply that has the fan blowing in. I flipped the PS fan out which barely works but I love the 92MM fan cage in which resides the oh-so quiet and trust Panaflo 92MM unit. The plastic case with easy take off side panel is a great piece of engineering. Drives are quirky to get to but the whole case is so quiet. To me, quietness is more important that marginal cooling effectives. I only have a 488Mhz Celeron in it with a Goldenorb on it. Heat really isn't an issue now but later when I will likely upgrade to a Thunderbird the beloved case will probably have to go. :(

My IBM keyboard. It's 8-9 years old and the best keyboard I've ever used. I still use it on one of my other machines. It's a little dirty, but it's got a great feel to it when you type.

I have no floppy :) :)

The only remaining part from my original computer were my Altec Lansing 490 speakers, lasted me a good 6 years. I recently replaced them with Midiland S4 8200's.

And there it is! :D

my 3.5 inch floppy drive that originally came from a 386 waay back in time. Also my ps/2 keyboard which has traceable origins to that same 386 system(i think, maybe a 486 a few years later)

I'm still plugging away on my 6 1/2 year old HP IVP Laserjet. It's only 4ppm, but the text is typeset quality and just as good as the newer ones like the 4000TN I use here at work. I upgraded the memory to 5MB (from 1MB) a couple years ago because it was choking on some Mapquest pages I was trying to print -- cost around $20 to do that. I've supplemented it with a new HP 930C through the eStamp rebate deal awhile back for color printing, but I haven't used that much as I really have enough paper floating around the apartment and need more like I need a hole in the head.

Other than that, everything is at or under 1 year old on my main system with exception of my Advansys UltraSCSI card which runs my Plextor burner and reader (2-3 years old, can't remember). The only part that keeps changing with regularity is my video card as I've gone from a Matrox G200 to a V770 Ultra to a GeForce to a Radeon to a Radeon AIW in the last two years (probably shorter timeframe than that actually). :)

andrewr, you have to apply any special cooling to the chipsets to get that to over clock stabley?
