Mine had a self-built VW LT Camper.
Swapped the roof for a higher one with more beds, added seats, and built the complete interior.

Eventually it had to go, as the family outgrew it, and got replaced by an off-the-shelf FIAT based model by Detleffs, which blew its turbo hose while travelling through Sweden.
For regular cars, he was a long-time Volvo man (240, 740), before, again, the family outgrew those, and we needed minivans. Those ended up being three generations of Chrysler Voyagers, in descending quality. At least I got to ogle Vipers back in the day, when we took them in for service. I'm still disappointed we didn't get a first-gen Pontiac Trans-Sport back in the day.

@BonzaiDuck I live in Riverside as well. It was cool reading your post as i know the area well.

For me it would be my dad's 1964.5 Mustang. Man do i have a lot of good memories riding around in that car. This picture was taken around 1983(ish) as that is my sister and she was born in 79. My dad restored this car himself and I watched him do it through the couple of years it took in the mid 70's.



My kids are 6 and 11 but we are making memories in my old 65 Ford. So I'll post that one too.

Everyone seems to have big V8's. My dad had a Renault 5, i think it was known in North America as the Renault Le Car. He then moved onto a mk1 Renault Laguna. If i remember right it was a 1.8 petrol and was a barge with fuzzy seats

Those were such junk...I REMEMBER THE Renault cars from the 60's... butt-ugly...not very good...but kind of fun to drive.

@Nobece I owned three Renault Le Cars' back in the 80's. They did not look anything like that. They did look just like this:

My dad couldn't care less about cars, and knew very little about them. As long as they ran, he was good.

He did some side work for a leasing company in the off season for his business, and came home with a lease that had been turned in. He bought it because he could get it cheap, probably less than half of wholesale.

I was probably 17 years old, and here is this butt ugly 1961 Dodge Polara, in what can only be described as turkey turd tan. However, when I opened the hood, it became more attractive. It was a 361 ram air, with two 4-barrel carburetors mounted way out in the fender wells and the long crisscrossed intake manifolds. It was a thunder button, and from a standstill it wouldn't even squeal the tires, but when it shifted to second, it would smoke them.
