What was the best BS class you ever took?

Jzero

Lifer
GermyBoy's mention of the Wine Appreciation class brought me back memories of the BS classes I took my last year in college.

My favorite?
Outdoor Recreation. It was a 400-level PhysEd class that scored you 3 credits.
Basically the class meets 10 times the whole semester. You get an A if you show up every time.
5 of those classes you show up, write your name down, and pick up the schedule and what-to-bring on the other 5 classes.
The other 5 classes you do the following:
Deep Sea Fishing
Paintball
Canoeing
Kayaking
Horseback Riding

How stressful.

i took a Psychology class called "Death and Dying". it was so easy, our field trip was to a mortuary and graveyard. 😀 (yes it was in college)

"Exercise for stress management"

Summer course. 1.5 credits (1/2 my needed gym requirements)

We met a total of 6 times over about 6 weeks...1 hour each time.

We sat with the lights out and "meditated" (i.e. got comfortable, closed eyes, and listened to teacher "soothe" us with her voice)

80% of the grade was showing up....

To think, to earn that OTHER 1.5 credits, i took jogging...3 days a week for 4 months!

Philosophy at the Movies.

We watched Star Wars, the Matrix, Simon Birch, Waking Ned Devine, Liar Liar, and some Woody Allen movie in our college technology auditorium with a 60 foot screen, and full DTS setup, and then discussed how they related to different sorts of philosophical idealogies.

Pretty cool class, but pretty easy "A" too 🙂

I failed my volleyball class one year :Q

Sprained my ankle and forgot to withdraw from the class. Got an F in a 1 credit course

I took a CU course that teaches the students how to study better, everyone in the class had a 98 or above. It wasn't really fun but it was the best bs class i have taken so far.

I have yet to even have time for BS classes, but next year (my final year) I will probably take the Wine Appreciation class GermyBoy mentioned, Bowling, and I am already scheduled for a cooking/culinary class.

"Sci-Fi Film History." Or it was called something like that. As my professor said, "Basically this class is just a great excuse to watch sci-fi movies and get credit for it." I also took golf 3 times, but I actually got something out of that.

bio 310-Microbiology- That's where I meet my wife🙂 Also you guys looking for smart girls... microbiology is required for nursing majors so there's lots of them in there 3:1 ratio...

Golf! The Intro class was full of BS where you actually had to sit through golf lessons from the golf pro. The second class you showed up, played nine or eighteen holes and were done. No green fee, it was sweet getting to play golf twice a week for free.

Heh...the Middle Eastern topics class I took last semester was supposed to be a BS class that fulfilled a breadth requirement...

But very early in the semester, September 11 happened, and the class turned pretty topical and thus, more interesting

Oh I forgot I had to take a class in Alcohol Abuse/Consumption. It was a non-credit course, but was required by law. Stupid minor consumption arrest.:disgust:

Interpersonal Communication. It fulfilled a speech requirement(!) and was apparently a class about talking to each other or something. I put almost no effort into that class and got a B.

As a clincher, it was an honors class, lol.

Damn...I wish I could take some of these BS classes. The closest thing I've had was "Working with the Internet," a required class for my minor. Basically, we just fvcked around on the web.

History of the Motion Picture. The exams were actually rather difficult, but the class itself was just watching movies every week.

dc

Marriage and Family relationships
Golf
Archery
Introducton to Application problem solving

Those were all easy cheesy classes. I learned that I am an excellent archer and that I can't hit a wood in golf to save my life. But I can putt and using my irons 🙂

Computer Skills/Careers

I'm still in HS though, and just a freshmen...
but this class is split into two, bu som ekids get it as one class. BOTH of my teachers are teh dumbest people I know. Tell them you did an assignment, and tehy'll give you 100%. We do all our tying on 486's. I deleted Window's off mine. No one noticed. Been a week and a half. I'm working on getting Swordsifh to play on my friend's computer (He gets a PPro w/CD-ROM, lucky bastard). Though it is quite funny to watch the tech's install Win95 on floppy disks 😛

Edit: Its a required course too!

<< i took a Psychology class called "Death and Dying". it was so easy, our field trip was to a mortuary and graveyard. 😀 (yes it was in college) >>

that was a hard course.

this wasn't an easy course, but if you are good at BS, you'd do well

I took a course called "the Atlantis Debate"

we discussed Atlantis and the Sphinx and other things of occult nature. It was interesting, but my prof was a wacko and a tough grader.
