Sitting here going thru my books and remembering various systems I've built over the last couple yrs. I remember the very 1st system I sold for money, a K6-2 350 OC'd to 400 mhz on an Asus P5A mb, with 128 mb of ram, ATI agp video and voodoo2 SLI, Quantum Fireball HD, Promise controller card and a 24x slot load Phillips cd rom
drive. LOL,the profit on that one paid for my c300a setup 😀

Man those were the days, I was so excited, that rig rocked at the time and I was so excited to be getting paid for doing something I loved so much !

So what was your first system build for profit?

quite a few years ago i built a 386-40 rig for a friend of my moms.....with monitor, a 200mb HD, a 1mb graphics card, 5.25 and a 3.5" floppy......i think we got $100 for it.......it was fine for a while till one of their kids got into the bios :-( that was a nightmare

Researching the parts to build my first PC is what brought me to Anandtech....

Billy's Motherboard World had a review of California Graphics Photon 100 and I found Anand's review from a link there....

Bought a AMD 300 from Step Thermo with a guarantee of 350mhz!

Ati Xpert@play and a Voodoo1 to start and a Maxtor HD that I still use....

I always looked forward to the next upgrade and still do....but I have never made a cent as I only do it for the fun. I've got 100+ systems under my belt.....
