$20 bill. Turned it into the school office. My school was behind a bum-shelter and drug den (separate buildings), so it's not hard to figure out where it came from.

Must have been in the clay/mud fo a long time. Don;t know the karat as there are no markings but it looks to be pure gold. Nice find.

What happened with that? Did you sell it?

I've found a $20, think that was the most expensive thing....

I worked at a gas staton in the early 70's and one day arounf 5 oclock in the afternoon I looked down to see a wallet on the ground. I picked it up and looked around but there were no cars in the stalls and nobody but myself and the other guy who worked evenings too. There was 140.00 in cash in
it and I offered my coworker half if nobody came back for it. About 10 minutes later a guy pulls up in a pickup and mentions how he lost his wallet and asked if we found it. He was on his way to go hunting. I gave him his wallet back and he gave me 15 dollars.as a reward.

I have found 2 wallets in my life and both times I returned them exactly as I found them.
One day I was driving up Highway 9 out of Saratoga, Calif. heading to Boulder Creek to visit a
friend when in the middle of the road on one of the numerous hairpin turns on this 2 lane road
I spotted a wallet. So I quickly pulled over and checked it out. It had 17.00 cash in it. After digging through it I was finally able to find the persons I.D.

I called them up and the girl who owned it was home and I delivered it to her. She lived out in Sunnyvale or Mountain View, I forget which. She didn't give me a tip but she thanked me and that was OK with me. I delivered it because I found it and I knew she would get it back in one piece if I did. I have lost wallet's before and I know how frustrating that can be. Not the money, but having to get all your ID's credit cards etc. back.

300 RMB back in China as a kid. Most people only made about 500-600 RMB per month back then, good find indeed..... Never did figure out what my parents did with it though:confused:

Friend of mine once found 32 $100 bills in the pockets of some filthy pants left on the concert grounds while we were at a particularly large event (one band--not Woodstock or related)

He paid for hotel rooms the next night while we were waiting to head back home...

Found four different things:

1. Huge leaded glass chandelier, still in box sitting on the side of the road, packed in some seriously thick foam. It must have fallen off of a truck and landed down the embankment. I found out it was worth about 3k back in 1989. Gave it to my grandfather and he loved it.

2. Alarm system for a whole house literally sitting in the middle of the street in its own box. Probably worth a few hundred. Gave it to a friend who was building a house.

3. Wallet with 1700.00 cash in it, in a parking lot right next to my car. I called the woman and she freaked out. It was her paycheck and she was going to pay her rent that next day. She tried to give me some money, but I could not take it.

4. Found a womans checkbook, again , right next to my car in a parking lot. Lady had no idea that it was missing. I just got 10.00 in the mail last week for sending it back to her. I found the checkbook in August.

I can't see myself keeping a wallet with someones name and personal info in it. Especially when the person may really need the cash and whatnot.

Peace
