My biological dad died in the Korean war, so I never knew him, but my first step-dad was a pretty good man. USAF lifer, so we traveled a lot. He usually worked a side job to make ends meet, and even with that, money was usually kind of tight. I changed schools every 2-3 years as he got sent to new PCS bases, and while some of that sucked, it was also cool seeing new places. They divorced when I was about 11. 2nd step-dad was mostly just a d!ck with ears. Retired USAF, and was a REAL A$$HOLE...beat me and my mom a lot...I finally had enough, tried to kill him when I was 15. He left right after that...
I forged some papers, & enlisted in the Marines a week after I turned 16, and turned 17 in Vietnam. Spent the next 2 years in the environs around Da Nang. Life's been ok. I never held it against my parents how I was raised. Life Happens. You do the best you can with what you got...
