What voltage can a 3K+ venice safely go to?

I can't get my cpu to go past 2.3ghz(9x256@1.485v) with mem at default.
Mem is pc3200 or 2700, some pny that seems to do 3200 at cas 2.5.

I just tried 2.4 and it froze running ut2004. Speedfan says the cpu is at 26C.

Depends what you mean by safely. You can run it at 1.55V with adequate cooling, but any voltage above stock reduces lifetime of the processor. By how long, who knows?

I never had a cpu fail me in all my computers. I guess I never really pushed the voltage. I don't think going from 2.3 to 2.4 is much anyway so it hardly seems worth the effort. I think my ep-9npa+ultra is defaulting the vcore to 1.485 whereas it's supposed to default to 1.4, so I'm over the stock anyway. I just wish I could get the 2.5-2.7 that some are reporting to get.

That will help you determine whether your mobo is limiting you or not. Which I doubt it is, the Epox is a great OCer. Probly just stuck on your chip :(

Well, I did go for price, not overclockability. I suppose 2.3 isn't so bad for the $$. Fact is, my pc currently plays ut2004 just fine with my x800 vid and that is my most demanding usage. Maybe in a year or more I'll get a 2x but I guess I'm good for now.
