What video game to get a 12 year old boy?

I was thinking of getting him starcraft and the expansion. Great game, lots of fun, and no graphic violence.

What do you think?

Any other ideas? Assume his system can run anything (I dont know what his system is).

star wars lego, half life 2, guild wars, farcry. I played all of these and highly reccomend. If your looking into older games, warcract 3 frozen throne is fun as hell.

Age of Empires. Omgzors I was addicted to it when I was 12.. was top 15 deathmatch in age of kings then.. omgzors..

Age of Empires. It is educational!

Fsck yeah! When I was 8, I used to love playing AOE2, then going to school and learning about it. It gave me a good outline of what was to come, and now I learned in Psychology that a frame to build on greatly increases retention. I would recommend AOE for your 12 year old child. 🙂

My 12yo brother likes AoE2, BF1942 (Desert Combat..sp only, no broadband)..Morrowind..Neverwinter Nights..
