LCD panels and DVI
Some graphics cards are available with a DVI (Digital Video Interface)
interface as well as the old CRT monitor analog interface. The DVI interface is
the primary interface for flat panel LCD monitors. If you are planning to buy an
LCD monitor in the future, get a video card with DVI.

I run an ATI card with DVI that shipped with my Princeton LCD. Check with the LCD mfr and they should have a list of compatible cards. Many LCDs use analog cards (like the LCD on clearance at Ecost / pcmall)

Actually, really depends on display

Just last night my neighbor and I went to CompUsa, where he bought a Viewsonic 15" VA550, with free ($99) matching Viewsonic keyboard and mouse for $549. Went to his house. I installed 6.31 drivers on his four year old computer/Win98/TNT32 video card, and suprisingly, the thing fired right up and looked REAL good!
Think I'm gonna get a wall mount version of same.

Edit: Thats a PCI TNT, not even AGP
