What Video Card Do You Reccomend?

I am looking to buy a video card for gaming, specifically Counter-Strike: Source. I have a 19inch monitor. For under 200 dollars, what will give me great framerate and speed?

Thanks,
Westi

Sorry for not being more specific, though i did write it in the caption, it should be a pci express x 16 slot, nvidia nforce 4 compatibility, I already purchased the mobo.

7900GT is no longer a great card. You will have a hard time playing the latest games higher than 10x7 that too without AA especially at stock. Consider atleast a 1900XT class GPU.

My 7900GT is a fine card, I don't know what the stock speed is, but it overclocks really easily. I'd recommend a 7900GTO if he could afford a little more than $200. If not, then the X1950Pro.
edit: Wouldn't an X1900XT be overkill for CS Source?

If your soley playing Counter Strike Source, then a nvidia geforce 7600gt will be fine. But if you think you might wanna try newer games at full settings, get a ati x1950pro.

I'm pretty sure the x1950 pro will beat the 7900gt @ stock, it probably comes close to the 7950gt in some games. Asus has a double slot cooler card that's OOS @ newegg ATM for $170 shipped... I'm on autonotify.

So should I go with the 7900gt or the 7900gs, for Counter Strike: Souce? By the way, I laughed at your post stating that the 7900GT is no longer a great card. I might not be a wiz with computers, but I'm not an idiot either.

The Saphire X1950pro at $199 is a better choice than the 7900GT or 7900GS at current prices. It falls between the GT and GS in performance but, is priced lower than the 7900GT before rebate.

Can you find a 7900GT that's under $200? I can't seem to, but if you can, props to you. The 7900GS would be just find for CS:Source. I play it on my 7600GT @ 1024x768 and it's great.

Here's a decent card for the money, w/ a rebate too to bring it down to $159.99

The mobo you purchased, does it have SLI capabilities? If so, make sure you get a card that can do SLi.

No it does not have sli capabilities, I didn't see the need for an SLI rig for only CSS. If someone has a better NVIDIA NFORCE4 suggestion for what I plan to be doing please help.

If you're not overclocking, the X1950Pro is perfect. If you plan on overclocking, i'd recommend the 7900GS (if it's a bit cheaper than the x1950pro). Either would work fine in your motherboard.
