I have a visiontek GF3 ti200 stuff looks nice cannot complain.

I also Have a new MSI GF4 ti4600 that I just got and having second thoughts about spending too much on. So it is still boxed up.

I see That ATI 8500DV has alot of Cool features and I found one for $120 as a refurb.

what you all think?

$120 on the 8500dv is a killer deal. return the ti4600 for sure. sell the ti200 for like $80-$90.... get the 8500dv :D

Nothing wrong with a Geforce 3 Ti 200, seeing as I just installed them in two of my systems. Of course the Geforce 4 4600 will be faster and may look better, too. But me, I can't justify the investment for just a video card. If I am going to drop 2 or 3 hundred dollars, I better be getting a couple of new processors and ram and or motherboard, not just a vid card. But that's me and I am a cheapskate, trying to maintain 3 systems to run games and other apps for a family of 5. For my $270, I got 2 new Visiontek Geforce 3 Ti200's and an oem Visiontek Geforce 3. So all 3 systems got upgraded from their Geforce 2 class cards. Next step is probably motherboards, processsors and maybe ram to upgrade the 2 Via Apollo Pro 133a w/Celeron 900 processors. The K7T Turbo with XP1700+ should last a while, yet.

You think so Spanky...

I know that these were origannly like $300-$400 new (yes awhile ago)

And the 64MB on the card seems fine as I do not put my monitor up to the high resolutions ever

the memory on he card is not for resolution. it's for storing textures during gameplay. Games like DOOM3 will use about 80MB of the RAM on the cards so a 64Mb card won't even work.

What the heck? that is silly. can anyone confirm 128mb is a must for upcoming games (like in the next 6-8 months?)

I would return the GF4 and go with the 8500. ATI has really stepped up driver support. That card will be good for atleast a year. Then I would pick up a GF5 that are due at the end of the year.
