What VERY hi temps for 280 GTX?

I am running WoW with full settings 1900x1080 at an average 90fps. The temps get up there though to about 83c, I have seen 85 and sure they will go higher in a full raid. What is a normal High temp for these cards?

This. While it is probably a little above average, there is nothing wrong with those temps. You can manually adjust the fan with rivatuner, EVGA's precision tuner (works with all partners), etc.
 
in case OP didnt know this already, if you have riva tuner, go to Power User, then RivaTuner\Fan then on AutoFanSpeedControl enter 3. that will let u customize the auto speed control as far as when the fan kicks in at full speed etc. I have mine set so it gradually goes up in speed as temp increase, not just jump straight to 85% fans peed 😛
