What Verizon retail phone to buy?

I currenty have a HTC Rezound that is a piece of garbage. I attempted to replace the digitizer myself and every since its been wonky. Now I have insurance on it, so I could pay the $100 deductible and get a new/refurb one.

Or I could buy a Galaxy S3 for ~$350. Saying it that way makes it hard for me to believe the S3 is worth $250 more than the Rezound though...

Is there anything else? Razr's? I just can't tell if there is a better deal out there than the $100 it would cost me to get a new Rezound through insurance... but I don't know if I just want the same phone that I already hate again.

Has to be off contract since I am on unlimited and therefore cannot upgrade.

I love my Droid DNA... Not sure how much they retail for, though.

You can find the Note 2 for around 450. I just picked up a GS3 for 250 yesterday. The DNA can be found for around 350-400. These are Craigslist prices, mind you.
Just my personal opinion, but the Rezound is a pretty crappy phone. The Galaxy S3 is a much better phone. Thinner, lighter, faster, better battery life.

I think I'm going to stay away from HTC phones this time. A Galaxy S3 for $250 would be excellent.

I wish the Nexus 4 was verizon and had LTE.

Use insurance, sell the refurb Rezound they give you and put that money towards new phone?

There is a 100 deductible, & you "might" get 175-200 for the Rezound. Locally, probably more like 150.
Right now in my area, there are 3 GS3 listed for 250 on CL. The one I bought also came with a Mophie battery case. Total score on my part.

Yeah selling the rezound is useless.

Its either buy a new phone now, or get a $100 rezound and wait for something better to come along.

It's worth infinitely more than the Rezound since it's not, you know, a total outdated junker.

Haha yeah I guess... 720p and dual core 1.5ghz aint exactly a junker tho... if the phone actually worked.

It's weird, the GS3 & the Rezound aren't that different spec wise, but they perform like night & day. Maybe its Sense that is mucking up the Rezound, or the fact that the GS3 has 2gb ram & is running Jellybean 4.1.2(the Rezound will NEVER get Jellybean, & the GS3 is rumored to get 4.2.2)

Snapdragon S3(What is in the Rezound) vs S4(What is in the GS3) processors are massively different in performance even at the same clock speed.
