What US Soldiers are teaching the Afghani Children

I really don't see what the point of this is...

First, they're Marines, not Army. Second, they're just idiots. The kids don't speak English, and probably have no idea what they are saying. Just an idiot trying to be funny on camera. If you are using this as your basis for bringing troops home from Afghanistan, well I don't know what I can do to help you frankly.

Afghanistan has nothing to do with Israels security, at all, so the issue means as much as the Russia/Chechnya battle. Which is, nothing.

You on the other hand enable the people who want to keep troops there with your nonsense rants that make it seem that if the crazies want us out, obviously we should keep them there.

In the first video I see on Marine. In the second video I see two people. So including the person filming that is a total of 5. How many troops are in Iraq and Afghanistan?

How does five equal whatever number that is... probably 160,000+?

Not condoning the video... but I remember a few eyars back a Marine was charged with raping a girl in Japan. Does that make all Marines rapists?

I know a soldier in uniform represents his branch of service and more importantly his country...but somethings are hard to police. One can be hopeful these links make it to their commanders and they are dealth with.

It seems really unlikely that anything would come of a situation like this even if this guys superiors WERE notified. What rule did this marine break? Even in a worse case (for the marine) scenario, what's the maximum punishment he can receive for cursing at some kids? a timeout or something?

I'm seriously asking, as I know there are active-duty types reading P/N.. Whats the absolute worst punishment that a marine, caught on tape teaching Iraqi/Afghan children to curse, can receive??
 
Bring the troops home from Afghanistan because:

1. We are doing more harm than good;
2. American soldiers are supporting another imperialistic American mis-adventure in the name of democracy, but for the sole purpose of projecting power to the world.
3. We need to use some of that money for our people. Help Afghanistan with non-military aid, but quit spending our boys' blood and our money on people who mostly would rather we were dead.

Americans are fools for war. Our government has enslaved us almost as much as it's enslaved people in Nicaragua, El Salvador, Cuba, Libya, Lebanon, Georgia, Haiti, the Phillipines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Laos, El Salvador, the former Yugoslavian republics, Angola, and many others. I think it was Thucidides who said something like: "Strong states will do what they wish, and weak states will suffer what they must." Not much has changed since the Peloponnesian War.

Those military men are probably having no effect on the population, but are deluding themselves.

Some of you are so ignorant of geo-political considerations I wonder how you can call yourselves HOMO SAPIENS. 🙁

And when he comes back in a casket, he is going to smell worse then that kid, I do not see the humor in this.

There are a whole host of options for a commander ranging from a counseling to an Article 15. This could include additional duties, reduction in pay, loss of certain privileges, a black mark on his NCOER (which could make future promotions near impossible), etc etc.

Any PL or Co Commander worth his salt would do something about it, although I personally would use it as a "teachable moment" and go relatively easy on them. On the scale of Stupid Things Soldiers/Marines Do this is definitely actionable, yet still rates fairly low.

Sure, much of our troops are good people who have devoted their lives to help the people over there as well as us back home.

However, when such unbecoming representatives of our nation shamelessly film themselves engaging in such depravity, I can't help but wonder how many such deviants are over there in our names, and if we are making more Jihadis than we are stopping.

Amost universally throughout history and modern times, the military is made up of those in the lower educational half of society, so (and I've not seen the video), we shouldn't expect an 18 year old soldier to really be much of a scholar.

We've been in Afghanistan since 2001 and are LOSING. If you have evidence otherwise, I'd suggest you send it to CENTCOM and General Petraeus.

If you think America doesn't bear substantial responsibility for the evil in the world, then you are badly in need of a history lesson.

I've been out of graduate school for 40 years, so anything I've learned since then has been mostly garnered by watching our government be really stupid. Corporate America is not much better.

But, don't let all the facts get in the way of your little mental masturbation.
