I got in on the Sept 2002 Dell hot deal: 2.4 GHz (533 MHz) P4, 384 MB Ram, 17" monitor, GeForce 4 MX 440, etc for ~600 shipped. At the time I thought I'd get a decent video card as soon as the prices of high end GeForce 4s dropped in price. However I've found that the lowly GeForce 4 MX can do everything I throw at it at good frame rates (I don't care for anti-aliasing and with a 17" monitor I'll never use over 1024x768 resolution). I still want a new video card, but by the time I really need one, I'll just probably get a whole new computer and give this one to my wife.

I've also thought about a 3.06 GHz P4 chip to replace the 2.4 GHz one, however at $269 that minor ~30% CPU speed bump isn't worth it.

I'm going to sell my 2500 soon if any of you need it. ;) . I'm known to sell low. I'm thinking 110 dollars is fair for a 2500 Barton (overclocks to 2.2 Ghz with stock voltage), a soltek Kt333 and a alpha pal HS with 80 mm silent fan.

An internet connection at home that's faster than 2 64k load-balanced isdn channels. They aren't even bonded... 2 individual 64k channels != 128k.

Athlon XP 3000+ (400MHz) to XP 3200+

I have plenty of Ram (1gb)
I'd like another WD Raptor drive to run a RAID

I'd also like a 19 or 21" LCD monitor. I currently have a 21" Nokia pro that takes up half my desk.

You are an ass and I hate you.
:D;)

I'll probably need to upgrade my GF3 Ti200 when Battlefield Vietnam and MOH: Pacific Assault come out next year.
But if I upgrade the GF3, I'll probably want to upgrade my XP 1700+.
And if I'm getting a new CPU, I'll probably need to upgrade my Abit KR7A.
And if I upgrade my KR7A, I'll probably want to replace my PC2100 DDR.
And if I'm upgrading all this, I'll probably want to go ahead and replace my 17" CRT with a 19 or 21 inch.
And if I'm going to have a bigger monitor, I'll probably want some new speakers.
And if I'm getting new speakers, I'll probably want to replace my Soundblaster.

So yeah, I guess I'll need a new computer.

My only necessary upgrade is a new monitor. This one is starting to die :(

Other stuff I would like:
Watercooling rig
another 512mb of 2-2-2-5 DDR333 to bring it up to 1gb
A good 5.1 DAC so I can bypass the AC'97 codec on my 8RDA+

Upgrade my 4200 to a Dual DVI card to support both my Hitachi CML174s - when the new batch of DX9 games comes out.
DVD Burner
Upgrade RAM to 1 gb (2 512 dual channel sticks)
Mebbe a SATA drive for faster bootup.

Upgrade Radeon 7500 AIW to Radeon 9700 or 9800 AIW pro.
Upgrade 20GB disk to 120GB.
Replace fans since they are roughly 2 yrs old.
Perhaps a processor upgrade, amd's plenty cheap.

New CPU, from a AXP 2000+ to something faster, maybe a 2500+ and then OC it.

A new vid card, from a GF4 Ti4200 to something faster, maybe a Radeon 9800.

Off the top of my head, in order of desire:

Dual LCD displays
DVD Burner
512MB additional RAM

That's about it for my main Rig
But if somebody gave me a 14" G4 iBook first, I would be most happy indeed :D
